When darkness threatens, The cold winds blow, All is silent in the night, Nothing is left alive. Love has fled far from sight, It seems but a distant memory, Memories fade, they fly away, Love is gone, not a trace remaining. The hordes of darkness approach, One stands alone to fight, For hope, for love, for all, he stands. Alone he will surely perish. They close in upon him, He stands tall and before him they fall, Yet still they come, rushing in, The darkness, never ending. He falls back, and again, Wounded, hurt, in pain, He collapses to the ground, Weary and defeated he falls. The darkness closes down, All is black, he is lost, Nothing can be seen, Hope is gone, all is lost. One last chance remains, As the stars themselves weep, They fall from the sky, Bright, burning they crash to Earth. Their light is eclipsed by another, Shining it decends from on high, To the fallen hero it travels, Love, so bright, so strong. From within he finds strength, He stands tall, love surrounds him, Before him the darkness falls, It cowers, frightened, weak. He strides forward, confident, Brandishing his love, truth and hope, The darkness fall back, more and more, Defeated and cowed it flees. Still he hounds it, following, He chases it from this Earth, Banishing it for good, Bringing light, peace, love. All is good in the world, The darkness is gone, Hope is restored, love flourishes, People live once more. The hero, bleeding, stands tall, His love spread out, touhing all, People stand tall, all heroes, Proud and tall, never alone. One last time he looks out, The hero, alone, triumphs, As the last of the loves leaves, Spread across the world, The hero closes his eyes. He falls to his knees, weak, His work is done, he can rest, The darkness is gone, He falls. Never to rise again.
