It depends how you spend your time there.

Flashbacks is post-traumatic stress. It seems it also comes with visuals when ya took psychedelics. It can happen but is not permanent, you can get out of it with therapy or good will and a little guiding. Just dont poke the beautiful lady out too much while you are in space, should be fine. Go with the flow as they say.

They also could be benefic on your mind. Some trips I would have the best day ever after, and yeah probably refreshed in a healthy sense , and some , very ill day, lots of stress i put on my mind the night before.

As Fluke said above, "open mindedness" is a long term effect. Other than that, once you get some cool visuals, you will probably forever be able to induce them at will.

Shrooms have left me with HPPD, not a bad thing I suppose, oh and of course it left me with an amazing feeling of knowing and seeing a completly different world that some people never see.
check erowid for more info on HPPD.

I love flashbacks, they are so much fun.

Shrooms like all other psychedelics can "bring out" schizophrenia and other mental problems, which people say might have come out anyways... but who knows?

I agree that trips will open your mind, you can see farther into things and people, and situations. Long term effects really are only going to happen to those that repeatedly abuse a drug, not use it recreationally.

    if i'm not mistaken

i think i read an article on the effects of shrooms on the mind

it said something about the active chemical in the mushrooms is quite close to the natural
chemical in the brain that produces visual stimulation
    like a dream i guess

but it basically said that there are no long term effects on the brain because the two
    chemicals are so closely related

    i could be mistaken tho
i think i found it on erowid

maybe not long term effects on brain but on mind , you decide. You hurt your mind not the shrooms . But when ya do things to hurt, while tripping, its like a catalyser.
