when i worked at kroger and they introduced these things they used to hang them in displays all along the beer aisle. they're probably in the pharmacy section now, but they're probably still there (at that store anyway) they do not contain alcohol or any controlled substances of any sort and should be perfectly legal to purchase regardless of age. however, the cashier (and ultimately the managers of the establishment) have the right to refuse a sale if they see it fit....for instance if some cracked out looking kid goes in and tries to buy 10 bottles of robitussin maximum strength cough they may not sell it to them because they know they're just going to abuse the drug within. if a girl with obvious slash wounds and scars all over her wrists comes in to buy a pack of razorblades, they also may not sell those to her. so it stands to reason that while chaser is a legal product for you to buy, at a certain place you may not be allowed to buy it for other reasons.
