am a meat eater but i love veggies and tofu i used to be a vegetarian for about 4-5 years but then one day was lured by a steak sandwich and been eating meat again ever since.
I want to be a vegatarian BUT I AM NOT ALOWED TO BE A BLOODY VEGATARIAN!!!!!!! I hate it, it gives me a bad reputation!
Why not? If you're determined, and prepared to do a bit of your own cooking, it's really not hard at all... presumably your family buys plenty of vegetables, potatoes, rice, etc... you just don't eat the meat!
vegetarian for 12 years now. dont eat tofu though - the sound of it is enough to put me off, and not a fan of all that fake meat stuff either. however, a big fan of vegetable curries
I tryed to get vegie rights by ruining a rost chicken with an argument Now i am alowed to be a vegitarion 4 days a weak Pathetic realy isn't People keep telling me just not eat meat my mum gives me, and to go on hunger strike but i don't realy have the corage.
eating just vegtables and you are going to get ill, hmmm for the veggie (sorry i have been a veggie but never a vegan so dont know exactly which foods a vegan substitutes for dairy products) you need a balanced diet which would be made up of veg, fruit, nuts (which are a good sorce of protein), brown rice, wholemeal flour, milk, cheese, eggs and maybe soya protein as a meat substitute. so get a good veggie cookbook and try to eat as many varied dishes as you can, experiment food is fun:drool:
Soya, it's been found recently, is actually pretty bad for your health and has been linked to cancers. Probably no risk with small ammounts, but it has found its way into a huge range of foodstuffs and may pose an increasing problem to health. I came across an article about it in the Guardian last year, interesting stuff....
I mean I'm the dog for eating anything, not that I have eaten dog that would be un-British, us dog lovers. In saying that I have never knowingly eaten dog; had a few takeaways, get my chain of thought?
I'm seriously considering full vegetarianism, as I eat meat pretty infrequently these days, and I do feel a little hypocritical when I do, knowing full well that I couldn't kill it myself, even if I had to. As it is, I rarely eat red meat, and never touch shellfish or offal. Problem is, I have a real thing with cooked vegetables; salads I love, but mushy, stodgy greens..... I just can't bring myself. I need to be more imaginative in the kitchen, I guess....
cooked veggies are wonderful, if you do it right! for a good pan of sauteed veggies, get some olive oil, butter(optional), garlic and onions(NOT optional!!) white wine, and some salt and pepper. Just keep tasing the veggies to see texture and flavor-----voila! Just a couple o minutes.
