Just wondering where everyone shops.... do you find yourself spending most of your time in retailers and major chains or do you have a really good supplier for your raw materials?

I tend to find a few good deals online every once in a while, although sale and clearance items at retailers and major chains always help when buying a large quantity.... and on the VERY rare occasion, there's an awesome find at a garage sale or something.

I have ordered from gypsy rose and rasta roots for things like shirts and stuff but for fabrics, i am still looking for someone wholesale. i thought i found a place but their sales rep was kinda short with me and told me he couldn't help me unless i opened a physical store...

however a place i liked tho was dharma trading co

We just canceled our account with SMC. What a rip off! They not only charged us a membership fee, they also charged a set up fee with every item we sold and jacked the frieght so high that we couldn't offer low prices for the items and still turn a profit. We are looking into another wholesaler. We contacted GR but they never awnsered us.

that sucks John, I saw their ads but never contacted them....

when i sold aroma burners and tapestries I used to order from www.fine-lineproducts.com their website doesn't look so wonderful but they have adorable perfume bottles and their roll on perfume oils smell pretty good, especially the cherry coke one =)

    I'll check them out FF.

We signed up with SMC about the same time we started Paisley Days. The deals were good but after a while it was tiresome having to update the site with new or out of stock items. We knew it would be like this with a few items b/c they have you sell alot of stuff to turn a profit, while they inturn turn one from you. I will say that it was worth the money we put into it b/c we ordered from them to sell in local shops and use as gifts for birthdays and christmas. But as for selling items that fit the nature of our store, we decided that we need to find someone who wholesales those items only. This past holiday we lost potential money b/c they discontinued over 50% of our selected stock with out notice (it was told to us that when items were to be discontinued they would contact us, which never happened). So when we come up for renewal in a few months we are going to spend our money somewhere else.

Eden botanicals and primafleur botanicals have great essential oils and bulk lotions, shampoos and conditioner but prima fleur has a 150.00 minimum.

Specialty bottle has the best prices on all kinds of bottles and tins for salves etc.

Organiccottonplus.com has the BEST prices on all kinds of organic fabrics.

i got an updated price list for another organic cotton fabric supplier and they said organic cotton prices will go up by 9% this year, though I am not sure if that is in the "industry" in general. Or just that supplier.
