    Landon Scott Stevens

We had been going back and forth between 3 or 4 names for months now, but last night we finally settled on one. I mentioned that we still needed to pick one, or at least narrow it down more, and so we listed the names again, looked at each other for a moment, and just completely agreed that landon felt right. it was almost like a magic moment. lol it felt so special. and we are both very happy with it. how did you guys name your babies? when did you know it was the right name for them? and how many times did you change your mind before they were born? lol... i still wonder if this will stick untill then... i guess we'll see... :) I still just can't wait to hold him.

Congratulations! It is amazing when you know you picked the perfect name.

For us, my hubby just came up with the name Mavi one day sitting on the couch. I just asked what it meant (the color blue) and fell in love with it, I knew it was perfect. River was a name that we both loved before we had kids, so I knew that was the middle name.

For my second baby, I knew very early in my pregnancy that I wanted to name her Ayla (pronounced I-la). I wanted a name to mean something, and Ayla means moonlit. And I knew that her middle name would be Rain before I even conceived. My hubby did not like Ayla because it is a very popular name in Turkey. So I gave him many months to come up with something better, but nothing could ever compare. I knew that her name was perfect and I felt set on it in my heart already, so Ayla Rain it was!

For us, we wanted her name to fit her, so we made a list of names that we liked and her name wasn't chosen until she was born, and we could look her in her eye. We knew right away that she was Moire Alison.

We aren't even close to picking a name yet! Nothing has seemed right...I dunno what we are gonna do when the time comes! I can barely name a pet so it's a bit overwhelming to name a person!!

Sera, just wait. It's amazing how many times I've heard people say that the name just popped into their heads upon meeting baby. :)

yea it's true ive heard a lot of people say that too. we were going to wait until we met him to choose a name if it didnt come to us like it did. it is really overwhelming naming a person! its going to be their name for the rest of their life... theres a lot of pressure. but it will come to you...

a friend of mine who recentlly had a daughter had absolutely no idea what to name her going in to the hopsital. She didnt even have a list of possible names she liked, nothing. and while she was laying there after the birth and they were cleaning her up it just came to her. she named her liviana, like a combination of olivia and ana, and they call her livi. Its such a beautiful name and it fits her so well.

When i was born, my mom was going to name me victoria, until she saw me. She said i was too tiny for such a big name. I became judy ann. Sometimes u may think you know the name, but it can change when you see the baby.

I was going to be Jessica Renee..one of the most common names of my birth year..and my mom decided to name me Theresa Lynn..but my dad came home and changed it to Teresa Lynn (he was out to sea and I was born early). Apparently they where also thinking of Rachel, but my dad didn't like it. I always wanted to be a Jessica..but I'm glad that I'm not..i know too many of 'em..oh and I was also going to be a victoria..but my mom couldn't spell the name..lol

Years before my first child was ever conceived, I knew she would be a girl with red hair and that she would be named after my best friend. There was never any question about it. Her middle name is DH's grandmother's name.

We picked our second child's names from a book of baby names. We simply could not come up with any girl names on our own. DH didn't like my choices, and I didn't like his, so we looked in a book for names that were similar sounding or had similar meanings that we could both agree upon.

    Congrats, very handsome name :)

My parents had no idea about a first name for me. It went on for a few hours after I was born, in the end a nurse suggested 'the name' and they agreed on. Thinking it suited me and was fairly uncommon ... which I've been disputing for years. :)

Hence choosing a name for myself. I found Sage on a list of 'hippy names' and thought it over for a while but ultimatly it always felt 'me'. Now I couldn't imagine anything else, it's just evolved and totally fits my character ('simple', not girly, connotations of wisdom etc), maybe looks too as I have green eyes.

My middle name was chosen well in advance, by my father. It was sort of after my cousin, who he was/is very fond of, but he changed the spelling to make it 'mine' (Clair, as opposed to Claire).
Now I generally dislike 'creative spellings', because mine still causes me grief. However I did some research into my name and discovered it's the French word for 'clear'*, or technically a boy name, depending on your perspective. That unwitting eccentricity amuses me, and I actually quite like the name on it's own terms. So it's staying put :)

My brother's name was chosen well in advance; the only other name my parents considered was Matthew. I'm glad they didn't go with that; because he suits Richard so well, and I just think it's a better name in general. I picked out his middle name, he's not fussed either way but I still like it.
