we just had a mid term and we had to read a sonnet written by Shakespeare and answer questions. i know i bombed because i just can't choose between answers because they seem to all be right. i get my own interpretation out of a poem, and i can't answer questions written from the perspective of someone else. does this mean i can't read and understand poetry?

Wait...so the midterm was multiple choice? On poetry?

That's...almost impossible. You're right, the whole point of poetry is that there are a thousand different ways to interpret it. What you should have been tested on is how well you can support why you thought one specific way about that piece.

    That's weird...
