I just can't find and read All the threads and so my query is: If I start an online journal and my best thoughts end up on it and I want to REuse those same writings for a self published book(or whatever) later on,Can I ??? Who OWNS my writing if I write on here? I'm just not educated on Blogs and Online Journals and stuff,so could you young folks who've written online your whole lives tell me how it works? OR the "owners" of this site tell me what Their policy is??? One online "hobby" place I've got 3 stories on says His version(he did the HTML) is protected and "his" but all the original writing and pictures are Still Mine to re-use however I wish..... IS That usually true? THANKYOU bloggers, journalists and published writers WHO KNOW! I want to cut loose on this site but I want to know if some blip of genius pops out that its still Mine-hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! Love and Peace and Keep On Keepin On with Creativity!
Technically, written content carries it's own copyright, BUT, plagarism is VERY difficult to prove. One must prove acess to the material in question - a bitch of a task. The best you can do is copyright it for about $60. Second best is to register it with the WGAw or WGAe (google them) for $22.50. But, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, the chances of you posting something so original that it has value are slim to none.
I did ask Skip and he referred me to the Hip Forums copyright page. It only took a day for an answer so that was real nice!!!! So! Anything I write on here HE can use to publish in a book or anywhere if HE wants to,BUT I ALSO retain the right to publish anything I write (anywhere Else)! The only thing I wondered was if I could still use my own writing elsewhere and that was answered. I didn't care about plagerism or "value"... The value to ME is the autobiographical book I will write later on! I was afraid to write an open public journal for fear something I wanted to use later would end up on Here and not be "mine" anymore!!! Sso,now I know! Thanks sentient and geckopelli,Peace&love&creativity!
