Hi, everyone. Alright, so Eagles fans, don't hate me; I only want to understand...lol. Alright so everytime there's a game people are wearing green and they become really excited. How can people get so excited over a bunch of strangers . Of course, when they win I'm like, well that's good for them they must've trained really hard, but I would say that about any team really. I don't get the idea of worshiping a team solely because they were founded in or near your hometown? I also don't understand the idea of people violently competing for a ball. So...what's it about?
Ehhh.... just Philly pride really. (im near there)... im kinda a fan myself and have asked the same questions but really, yeah i think a lot of it is philly pride.
i worship all the boston teams - its where i grew up and where my loyalty is shown. its just the nature of sports. and about the violence - its great, the harder the hits the better - atleast in the contact sports (football, hockey, rugby, etc). the determination to get hit that hard and get up and still play is awesome. the adrenaline rushing through your body after a big play is great. if you've never been hit hard and knocked down during some game and got up to continue playing you probably won't understand
Christianity is passe. Sports offer a convient "sink" in which to invest our surplus of emotion and desire. You should give thanks that you don't live with a Chicago Cubs fan. :jester:
