Just to clarify: i wasn't saying that artists are more spiritual than everyone else, some are, and some aren't, it depends on the person, where as those who aren't artistic can be spiritual, just as others aren't.
I believe we are all equal in the eyes of God and we are all blessed with a gift. But if you use your gift to hurt people you will in trouble.
i feel that anyone who is truly into their artform is closer to the Divine at that moment, yes....the key element here is passion - anything we are passionate about to the point we can lose ourselves in it is closer to the Divine at those times, for passion is that love/creation energy that makes the world go round! (so to speak, don't get all scientific on me here, hehehe)
I play with musicians in many different settings. We get together and work an original and it takes a life of its oun and you love this song and how it just twists your wrist right or you tweak your voice and then you record it and you listen to it a lot for about a weak. Omce im a while there is a jamm session or a song circle and there is a fire. People around listening and picking up the high. Some joining in background vocals drumming a little mandolin here a lttle flute there and something happens and it rips right through your soul and you just start whaling your entire heart out. The thing your holding isnt even a guitare anymore it is a chanel your a chanel the entire solarsystem stops. If any one has ever experienced this phenomena knows, felt the wind of enchantment and the metaphore singing with the nagual. Its called freedom and it rocks!
i would have to say it depends on who the artist is and what they are about. But i have read somwhere that Heaven holds a special place for musicians.
