Rosie has been in the news alot lately with fighting with Donald Trump, which more recently she said on the show The View to impeach Bush, when Barbara Walters asked her to move onto another subject, Rosie asked her what are we suppose to move onto this is called The View, and she sort of snapped at Barbara, I found this article on the impeachment statement, which is not being given the coverage like the rosie and donald feud. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=62128 In a statement to her ABC audience on "The View" Rosie said, "We've given you [Bush] 4 years and 3,000 American lives, enough sir." The comment's came after President Bush's State of the Union Address Monday night caused a heated debate on the set of "The View." Rosie went further to say, "You know what I think the Congress should do, and I'm sure this will make me in some sort of celebrity feud or AOL poll, but someone, I believe, should call for the impeachment of George W. Bush, to let the world know." Rosie went on to say, "I think we should do it so the world knows that the nation is not standing behind this President, these choices. That the nation, a democracy, feels differently than the man who is leading as if it were a dictatorship. And that "we" represent this country, he does not lead as a monarch." Whether the call to impeach holds any water Rosie says it should be done anyway. "Even if he doesn't get impeached that we should call on it to tell the world that we are against his policy." In response to Rosie's comments on the show, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck said, "It could be dangerous when you're in the middle of a war to call for the impeachment of your leader. You have to think about the long term affects." Rosie responded saying, "I'm saying that someone should stand up and say, when democracy was dying, I Senator said I am against this. To call for impeachment is a political statement from the people they represent. Is there some Senator brave enough to stand up and say it?"
Rosie sucks and thinks her opinion is worth more than others because she is "famous." I agree with her, but her ME ME ME attitude really overshadows her points.
Although Rosie can be obnoxious, I do agree with her point of view and admire that she states her thoughts without the fear of offending others. I just find it amusing that people get their heads up in a whirl when someone mentions impeaching Bush, yet they obviously found it very crucial to impeach Clinton for having issues with his own personal life .
First off nobody likes war, that is evident. But on the other hand war is in the human condition, humans have an innate ability to be violent and angry even to the point of killing. Lets get back to the subject though, back in 2001 the U.S. was attacked by terrorists and 2000 people were killed, did you really expect the U.S. to sit quietly? Of course not, the administration had to make a gamble, beef up security at home and let various terrorist organizations across the world go free and strike again at a later time, maybe, or make a solemn commitment to the U.S. and the world for that matter to track down all terrorist organizations and eliminate them, as well as opposing dictatorships who house these terrorist organizations.(this would be later realized in 2003) Of course the U.S. would take the risky gamble and go on a crazy terrorist killing spree, why, because we have the military ability and we had the will to carry it out. Ok we understand all of this but why are we in Iraq mainly and bogged down in civil war, well to understand that question to have to make a prediction, considering the project for new american century and the new world order you would assume the U.S. is preparing to intervene in Iran who openly opposes and defies U.S. and world interests. Remember the U.S. basically keeps the world spinning soundly, to some degree, we have to get involved in messy situations even if at the time it sounds rediculous and downright unjust. Life isn't fair remember that and know that our everyday lives are being kept relatively safe by the will of our courageous military and brilliant thinkers that look to the future with optimism. The world is much different now then ever before, its an arms race and us everyday people may not want to hear about it but at least we aren't sitting back letting it unfold like in the past and then when it hits us in the face we say, "damn, what were we thinking." I hope I made some sense here.
Polls taken in 1998 showed that only 28-30 % of Americans thought that Clinton should be impeached. Current polls show Bush's approval rating at 28 %. This proves once and for all that Abe Lincoln was right: You can fool some of the people all the time. Impeachment? Impeachment precedings would eat up a lot of valuable time and resources that would be beter spent fixing up gw's F*ck ups. ie writing laws that would better insure free and fair elections.
