Alright. So let's assume that smoking pot on a regular basis can range from smoking everyday all day, to smoking several times a week. Yes? So the question is... Does pot smoking REALLY affect one's grades? Sorry I just had to do a poll... And let's be honest, for the sake of 'validity'. (Hopfully this won't add any bias, but I smoke ALOT! Moke weed everyday)
It affects grades if you let it. It certainly has killed all my sense of short term memory so that may lead to forgetting assignments, but I don't let that happen. I have a small memo pad and a pen in my back pocket at all times. Important dates, assignments, whatever it is, goes right into my memo pad, and reviewed at the end of the day.
I would agree that students need to adapt to avoid falling grades. Adapting would mean changing your behavior to ensure that you don't mess up. Smoke less, and less often. Try not to be high at all in school. Take better notes & keep organized. View smoking as a reward for getting work done & good grades. A positive reinforcement, enjoyed in the right way at the right time. In other words, self-discipline. If you can master it then when you are straight you can do anything! The trick is being straight once in a while! I think teenagers should put school first. There'll be plenty of time to burn 'em later!
I know a guy that's smoked daily before he graduated, and he ended up with a 4.3 GPA. He's a pretty smart guy anyways, he's just not one of the steriotypical "lazy" stoners.
i havent smoked for over a week, andim starting to remeber things i never thought i knew, but the things remebered arent interesting unless ur stoned. as ^ posetd- it gets ur grades if u let it, smoke responsibly and nothing will happen
ive been smoking pot everyday this whole school year. sometimes even a few times a day. i still have a b average. i feel like i dont even try but its just easy for me somehow
ive been takin a two week break due to midterms this week. usually i only smoke twice a week anyway.. i get avg honor roll grades same as i have all my life so i dont think weed really affects grades.
