after getting my first uti i've been trying hard to pee before and after sexual intercourse. sometimes i still get a burning sensation when i urinate so i take cranberry pills to clean my urinary track.

after my last menst. cycle i had a slight itch and what seemed to have been small globs of discharge in the toliet paper...
i had told my mom about it [she doesnt know i'm sexually active, but i'm 20 so it doesn't matter if she knows or not] and she said that i might have a yeast infection. But symptoms went away and so i ignored the fact.
the other day after i had finished the #2 i noticed that my vagina was discharging some off white creamy discharge. it doesn't seem to smell much but i've also been having lower back pain and my right ovary gland doesn't seem to happy with me. i've also been getting more headaches than usual and my stomach doesn't feel normal

also during sex i had some clear discharge with blood in it. not enough to be freaking out about it not stopping, but enough to stain the condom. my boyfriend took a look inside me and said he could see some blood. i'm not due for my period for another couple of weeks and i'm kind of really worried

That sounds like a yeast infection. But go to the doctor to be sure. Especially if you've never had one before. I had a yeast infection back when I was younger that I had for awhile and didn't realize that I had it. Anyways good luck, hope things get better UTIs suck.

Do you have a general practitioner you could make an appointment with?

I'd most definitely call back and try to get an earlier appointment. Most ob/gyn's keep at least one slot free each day for "emergencies" - explain to them all of your symptoms and that you have never had a yeast infection and cannot treat it yourself with over the counter medications until you are sure that is really the problem.

Call back and tell them that you're concerned that you have some sort of infection and explain all of the symptoms, including the headaches.

Most gyns can get you in earlier for an infection, but they are in no rush to get you in for an annual checkup.

If this gyn can't get you in any earlier, is there anything stopping you from calling another one? I know I'm constrained because it's free if I go to Student Health but expensive if I go elsewhere, but if you don't have any limitation like that, I would switch doctors on mere principle if this one can't get you in right away for an infection.

As for the blood during intercourse -- definitely talk to your doctor, but it's not terribly uncommon to have some spotting on occasion. Now, if there was any pain, I would think there WAS a serious problem, but if there was no pain, don't stress about it until you talk to a doc.

yeah im looking into another one because i called today and they said they are full. they forwarded me to the nurse line in the hospital but no one picked up so i left a message and they're supposed to call back...can they do blood work to find out whats wrong? or is going down there the only way to find out. i have to choose someone who takes tufts insurance. the only reason i chose this one is because my pediatrician who i've been seeing most of my life referred me to her. i do want a female gyn...thats my only preference.

yeah there was absolutely no pain. at first after we had sex again there was no blood at all...two times...but the third time i did bleed a little and so we decided it wasnt just a scare. no more sex until i get this checked.
it was so bad last night. my lower ab/back hurt and i keep getting this urge to empty myself...which i would think is a uti...but urges from the back? idk[plus i've been sure to pee/take cran pills after sex].
i couldnt sleep. but after i relaxed my body the urge and discomfort down there eventually went away. but i can't go on like this for much longer.

i just got a call from the gyn's nurse...she says that i should either go to a walk in or to the hospital they pretty much work in so they can help me figure out what i have...and then she can follow up at my appointment on the 27th...thats all the help she could give me since i'm not established yet...i hope the hospital doesn't charge me too much for going...i know one time i had a uti and a fever that wouldve turned me to mush...but i got meds and my fever down and they only charged 50 bucks...

If you're having symptoms that sound like a uti with pain, definitely go to a walk in clinic somewhere. A regular doctor can check for a uti. Do this asap.

When I had a uti, I didn't get any of the normal symptoms, like burning while peeing or any of that. I didn't think I was peeing more than normal because I often drink so much water that I'm running to the bathroom every 45 min anyway. But I got this really bad pain on the sides of my lower back and had a fever. So, yeah, a uti can cause what feels like back pain.

If you have another uti, then it may be that your vaginal symptoms are bacterial vaginosis rather than yeast. If you're not careful when you wipe after using the toilet (always wipe front to back), you can spread fecal bacteria (even if you don't see anything, a microscopic amount can do it) to where it can cause infections. Also, during intercourse, if you engage in any sort of anal play/sex, make absolutely certain that anything that has been in contact with your butt does not go anywhere near your vagina until it has been washed thoroughly.

I'd call my doc for another referral. If this gyn can't get you in on an emergency basis, she doesn't care enough about her patients to be worth your time or money.

i went to the ER...did a urine sample...blood work...and had the gyn that was on call there...nothing visibly wrong there. he then put pressure on my ovaries to see if the pain got worse but it didnt...so i have to go for an ultra sound...i hope it isnt anything too serious.

thanks to everyone who replied to this! i guess i'll let you guys know the outcome when i get results!

    ok...eek. forgot about this.
most of all symptoms have gone away...
i still sometimes get discomfort after i pee. but i went to my gyn and nothing is wrong at all.

i;m thinking any problem i have has to do with my bladder
