Hey Hey! Who belongs to a social networking site? Like Myspace, Friendster, Facebook, etc. Has anyone heard of Cyworld? I joined last month and I really like the site. It has a lot of cool features like unlimited photo/video storage, sketchbook, journal, virtual miniroom, and lots of clubs. I was just invited to an exclusive VIP Club which has a lot of cool perks like contests and prize giveaways every month. Some of the prizes are $100 gift cards, gift bags, and accessories. Let me know if you are interested in joining because it's invite only and I can invite you. If you already belong to Cyworld let me know so we can be be friends!

This looks like a company's scheme. It's definitely linked in with advertising.
I don't trust threads like these as far as I can throw them.

Why join this site when there are so many others that offer better services and have more users?!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cyworld
    URL; http://www.cyworld.com/
Type of site - Social network service
Available language(s): Korean, Chinese, Japanese, English, Vietnamese
    Owner - SK Communications

Cyworld is a South Korean web community site operated by SK Communications, a subsidiary of SK Telecom. Literally translated, "Cyworld" can mean "cyber world", but it's also a play on the Korean word for relationship, so it could also mean "relationship world." It takes the concept of personal, virtual rooms similar to MySpace, CokeMusic, and AeroWorld which is still in service in the USA to promote their products.

Members cultivate on and off-line relationships by forming Ilchon buddy relationships with each other through a service called "minihompy", which encompasses a photo gallery, message board, guestbook, and personal bulletin board. A user can link his/her minihompy to another user's minihompy to form a buddy relationship. It is similar to U.S. based Facebook and MySpace websites. Reports show that as much as 90 percent of South Koreans in their 20s and 25 percent of the total population of South Korea are registered users of Cyworld, and as of September 2005, daily unique visitors are about 20 million.

Today, Cyworld operates its site in the United States, China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam as well as South Korea.

Everyone has their own reasons for what sites they like and don't like. Not everyone is going to like Myspace or Facebook and Cyworld is another alternative. Just like not everyone will like Cyworld, but for the people who find it appealing will sign up.

And you youngsters wonder why you fuck your units up. You join sites where they are only interested in is trying to get your data and sell it, and while they do that they fill your computers with crap. How many of you have ever gotten free Ipods and stuff? Bet I could count them on one hand.
