The Napoli I didn't even get the chance to loot..I was too lazy Tis the most exciting thing to happen to Devon in a while though, shame about the destruction it's causing. All those corals
Yeah! funny, i can't belive how the media has been slagging the "looters" or beach combers. Normally dispassionate radio4 described them on the news as "the new breed of scavengers", even though it doesn't seem to be illegal. I guess it's because taking things without paying for them represents a breakdown of the normal rules. I hope a nice bike is blown off course and floats down the canal to manchester!
It is theft when your breaking open containers and the like, sad to see peoples home goods being stolen, the other stuff I would imagine is covered by insurance, loose stuff is just beachcombing.
aye, the breaking open crates etc is a bit wrong, but the scavenging for treasures that have broken free, that's alrighty
No it must be at least 2 hours away, not really worth it for a pile of nappies. Anything good I would regard as theft so wouldn't want the temptation.
Got some mad stuff though, motorbikes, TV, DVDs, Cases of wine!!!! I said to my mate, I wish I found out about it earlier.......
aye, tis all gone now. Some people were extremely out of order though. They started to rob the villagers and let cows out of fields and just generally cause destruction. The village schools been shut off due to cars everywhere and the villagers are actually frightened of the yobs about the village. This is Devon afterall, anyone not local is a threat!
I think the police were out of order in not closing the beaches of at the first opportunity, a load of greedy freeloaders is never a healthy thing to suffer.
To be fair, the police were doing the right thing. They were led to believe that it was coastguard territory and didn't want to be getting in the way.
Oh well it was all very exciting.. especially for down south!!! That will be remembered for many years down there......
Lyme Bay, our largest bay. Branscombe Beach. So it affects Exmouth, Sidmouth, Ladram Bay, Budleigh Salterton etc. I guess everyone will be using Torbay much more this summer. Torbay is much nicer, so long as you don't go to Paignton, Torquay or Brixham.
