OMG, do all barefooters have black soles? They look filthy to me. I'll take my natural pink soles anyday. And I still don't see what makes anklets natural, they're made out of manufactured materials just like shoes.

Ever checked out the interior of a pair of runners after they have been worn for a day? I'm not saying that everyone has access to the equipment needed to view this, but it's amazing just how much bacteria can breed and multiply in a runner.

Also, the foot that is encased in such a runner has more bacteria (causes of all those nasty diseases like tinea for example) being able to breed than a barefoot. Ever had someone take off a pair of runners and be greeted with a gut wrenching smell? Guess what! That's bacteria! Lovely organisms swarming and multiplying in the sweat from the foot. Include the sock as an insulator and whammo! To you a barefooters soles may look filthy - yet a) they don't smell and b) due to the fact that the foot is exposed to air and UV light, bacteria numbers are kept way below the levels found in a foot encased in a runner.

I'll stay being barefoot and having black soles rather than encasing my feet in something that can harbour and promote the growth of vast amounts of disease causing bacteria!!!
