    a chance for free boasting?

well, i just graduated from one of the best colleges in the country (we dropped from 5th to 6th best this year--not that it even matters...) with a 3.2 GPA. in my major, my GPA is much higher. also, for my entire senior year and the majority of my junior year, i only received 4.0s, making the Dean's list each time. and yes, i also get high... whenever i want, in fact.

intelligent, responsible, mature, motivated individuals are not brought down by smoking pot. people who lack these qualities, however, may have problems juggling a drug habit with the unceasing pressure of academic demands. (then again, it also depends on the calibre of your particular institution). the concluding point here is that not all weed smokers are worthless underachievers. despite this, marijuana is certainly not for everyone; also, academics should always come first.

i started smoking weed when i was in grade eight, and now im in my first year of university. throughout my junior high and high school years my grades werent effected at all, i was still a gold honors student for five years and got some scholarships to university, blah blah bla. but university sucks balls, its only hard because noone cares about u and they dont give a fuck if you learn or not because youre the one paying $7,000 to go there. i never go to classes, they discourage me. i kinda feel like a failure, but i think im just ill-motivated because im studying shit that doesnt interest me.
    peace hippys!

My grades in high school went down after I started smoking, but that was just a coincidence. My grades went down in direct correlation with me learning about the world, what I wanted to do with my life, and how I didn't give a shit about scores anymore, I wasn't going to college so what was the point. Therefore, my highschool junior and senior years were fucking bad ass.

I don't think it affected my ability to learn or study. My grades were mostly effected by my emotional state. My grades suffered if I was emotionally distraught. (Which i was and still am alot, but that's another story).

Smoking pot helps me chill and relax and often times, it even helped me to study. Sometimes I'd have to wait until I came down a bit. It's easy to lose your priorities when you're smoking up but if you just make sure you keep them in order it's all good.

I can proudly say I currently have a 3.5 GPA and I hope to keep it that way!
If smoking does ever get in the way of studying, I may lay off it for a bit. But no, weed doesn't make you stupid.
    It makes you lazy.
    There you go, naysayers. :D

I'll be a test. I haven't been smoking for long, and my grades haven't had a chance to do much. Right now, I do well with A's and B's taking all honors and AP (college credit) classes, with a D in AP French because it blows. I got a ludicrous score on my ACT. If my grades change much in high school I'll post.

I'm a college student with a 3.91 GPA. That's taking humanities, psychology, statistics, english, and comparative religions. I do not smoke daily nor do I ever smoke before class or studying.

I know how you feel, I got grades like that too, but its never cause Im stupid or lazy, more or less I cant stand school. Ive been doing it for 11 years and if I could jus go back in time and slit the throats of whoever thought up school Id be happy. So many bad memorys in school. Ussually due to not going. But how can you go and do some things your not motivated to do. Nor really care for.
