the early morning is very nice for doing yoga. the time when the sun gets up (ok thats different in winter) is a very special time and its somehow quite and different from the rest of the day. ive done this some weeks - standing up at 5:30 h and meditate, doing yoga,... youre very energized for the day if you start like that every morning.
and if its hard to stand up so early, do some energy-breath exercises. meditation and relaxation help if youre short of sleep =)

I ge up when it's still dark (changed with seasons of course) and do an hour of yoga. Starting off with sun salutations and working my way from there. I hate doing yoga int he afternoon. I find it easier in the morning, because my body is still asleep, and it just wakes it up and makes the postures effortless sometimes.
