last night i was sleeping under a tree. at about 5am or whenever it gets light i felt something land on my head, as if falling out of the tree. so i opened my eyes and discovered a squirrel...he looked about as surprised as i was. we shared a moment, both calmly looking at the other, afraid to make the first move. (kinda like new lovers who run out of words to say, waiting for the other to offer a kiss)
after the moment passed i closed my eyes and went back to sleep, as i listened to my little friend scurry off.

i think the poetry was great, especially this part:

."..he looked about as surprised as i was. we shared a moment, both calmly looking at the other, afraid to make the first move. (kinda like new lovers who run out of words to say, waiting for the other to offer a kiss)"

It reminds of another great story I once read by the late Bishop of Toble Rone entitled:
'Great British Railway Journeys: Volume 3'. Here is a small sample:

"I stood on platform 2 for the 12:49 train to Hastings. I waited for twenty minutes."

That, without doubt, is the best poem I have EVER read in this or any other forum.

i like the poem, and everything is poetry u frigging system tools... stop being a bitch to ithe international grammer community and accept that there is no frigging form man, u gotta let it flow...like piss...just let it flow...

i did fear for a moment, i dunno if it was for u, that the squirrel might have rabies, or that u might shoot the squirrel... i suppose thats the nature of true love, each is in a position to harm the other, but do we let fear take over, hell no...we let it ride

Hmm the poem you wrote is great and is a sort of metapoetry in which the poem itself discusses the form of the poem like metaphilosophy is philosophy discussing philosophy -
However if everything is poetry then nothing is poetry in the same way that some music is jazz but not all music is jazz - erm some writing is journalism and not at all like poetry. no you will find that poetry is an art form with a discipline built into it such as a sonnet which has a prefixed meter and rhyme structure and a fixed number of syllables - nothing can be called a sonnet if it does not match that structure.
In the same way that all music that is classed as a military march is in 2:4 time - and a waltz is in 3:4 time - if it were not so then soldiers would waltz rather than march and that would make war impossible as everyone would laugh too much. no a poem has structure and it is merely the device of EXTREMELY clever poets to point out their poems break the rules by being "freeform" however even freeform has its rules when you look for them - thats what makes a clever poem.
As for my poems they are not poems but mere wittiness that pretends to be poetry however I do admire poets and help them by dealing out my very harshest criticism whenever they fail to impress but show promise. I only ever give the highest praise to those who fail miserably to to show the slightest talent in any art form

I have to go now as I just saw my next door neighbour and I'm going to punch him on the nose for allowing his dog to bark all night and keep me awake
