im curious, Ive been back in canada since thats happened and havnt seen first hand any reaction of americans to this. it extremely interests me, as this happened AFTER america got the whole we will not allow others to use star wars technology or develop such technologies, but america itself is free to do so..... I have always said china will be the one who finally takes down this empire. I figure in the world today they are the only ones capable of doing so....granted they dont seem to have much interest in doing so as they are more fighting the economic cold war than any war of battle..... BUT, its interestting to see this move. I have watched as chinese embassies were bombed in so called "friendly fire" during the kosovo crisis, and then the american spy plane shot down or crashed...cant remember none the less takin prisoner by china... I chilled with some anti aircraft artillary guys in vancouver, who once drunk started telling me about this seceret mission on chinese soil, they said they knew they were not supposed to be there, and while there china was sending bombs just over there heads...kinda letting them know that they know what they were doing...... china has never ceased economic relations with iran, iraq ( during saddams rule) afganastan (during the talibans rule) and many other of americas enemies...BUT has never been really considered as a hostile nation to the U.S I wonder why that is? I mean america could not even win vietnam, they pulled out of somalia during clintons reign because it was un winnable, iraq proves what its capable of even when the enemy is starving..... do you think that america backs away from a conflict knowing that it will loose...and loose badly enoughto change the impression america gives as a "power house" which by the way you have no arguemnet from me that america is a war machine...its economic stregth only exists because of its supply of both nazi and allied forces during the second world war, after they decided they had made enough money and the rest of the world was in shambles they FINALLY backed up allied forces who had already done the frontlines and fought for a meager 8 months....coming out of the war as the only remaining industrialised nation capable of export..... these are my thoughts? what are yours? do you think america could win against china? now? ever? do you think america only picks on the small guys?
all america is doing is causing conflict between japan and china, who have never gotten along for MANY reasons that go back for centuries. America is basically japans only true allie but america is scared to death that china and japan will become allies. If the did, they could very easily pose a threat to the world. Anyway, i think the thing most people need to know is that japan and china are in an arms race right now.
China is the third country to have the capability of destroying a satellite from space, after Russia and of course the US. While this is something to definitely pay attention to, it is not anything that has not already been in consideration. At first glance ones imagination could go wild. Sat com eliminated, sat imagery eliminated, munition guidance eliminated, etc... Coordinating an attack that would disable all satellite support before monitoring systems could pick up the source of the attacks is highly unlikely. The amount of warheads needed to accomplish such a feat would surely not go unnoticed. The launching of that much payload into space wouild definitely raise a few red flags. As far as war with China... I don't think the US would be foolish enough to provoke such action, and I don't think China would be that foolish either. The US and China are too dependant on each other. Americans love cheap imported shit, and the Chinese love exporting cheap shit. A match made in heaven. However, if this conflict did take place, you will either be very hot, or very cold. Hot from the dozens of thermonuclear reactions that would surely take place. Or if you were unlucky enough to survive, the cold from nuclear winter.
I was disappointed to see that they did that... but I can't say I was shocked. Our president doesn't have any beliefs in discussion, debate, negotiation, or the treaties such acts might lead to. Bush only understands sheer gall, outrages against sense, the belief that might always makes right... so expect to see a lot more of this sort of thing as other nations go back to this Dark Ages methods of problem-solving.

I wonder what happens when we get so dependent on our hardware and oil imported from other countries and we get into a major conflict where China and other industrial producers aren't on our side. I wouldn't want to be in that situation. We'd end up like the South during the civil war that didn't have the hardware. There are real security issues there, not the artificial fabricated ones about someone in Iraq who allegedly tried to buy aluminum tubes or someone in a cave in some other country that we have squandered hundreds of billions of dollars on. Satellites are vulnerable. In general it's easier to damage them than it is to protect them. We have become more and more dependent on them in recent years. It's another security issue that hasn't really been addressed. .
I hadn't seen anything about this on the news or in my local paper. But I've been busy. My biggest fear is that it could lead to billions of dollars being poured into our failed "star wars" program. It would be yet another boon to the military industrial complex.
well me and my dad were talking about this, they keep throwing shit up there and hurting our stuiff, why dont we just tell them if they keep doing it, cut off our stuff we get from them? We can make our own stuff here, id love to go one day and finally see an item that says "made in america'' and plus itll give more people who really need jobs, but then again this country is so broke to pay the wages of americans... all bush cares about is this stupid war..
actually they blew up there own communications satalite america said no other country was allowed to do it... china pretty much said fuck off you dont onw the world...and definatley not outer space and made there point there is no way america could produce what china does for many reasons, including labour sheer man power , it costs folks in china sometimes as low as 5 dollars a day to employ a worker when in america thats minnimum wage an hour.... raw materials, ect.... its true on the massive economic partnership america and china enjoys, an economic cold war really. if ever sanctions were put on china by america the rest of teh world would still enjoy there goods, though america would be the one severly hurt by it. America NEEDS cheap labour producing countries to support there over indulging appitites....the fatest folks in the world are yankees thats fact!!!!
