Well, in the past my acne hasn't been TOO terrible, just more annoying. Especially on my back and chest. Turning veg got rid of some of the problem.. maybe 50%... then, after going vegan, I have only about 10% of what I had when I was a meateater. So, since it's getting harder and harder to be a vegan at this point in my life, I've decided to consume cheese, but no dairy or eggs. I would really rather not, but cheese is more or less in everything my family cooks, and I can't afford to buy all of my food right now... between college and travel and everything else... Anyways, I ate some chedder peppers from sonic and I ate some mac and cheese to see if my acne would flare up again. It did. And it sucks... but I have to eat cheese right now. On some days it's unavoidable. Anyone else have this problem with dairy if you consume it? Any tips? I've been trying proactiv scrub stuff, so I'll see how that turns out. I drink a lot of water... and that seems to help (about 2 liters a day). Any other suggestions? thanks Craig
Nobody ever believes me when I tell them the things you eat DOES cause acne, for ME it does, I've experienced it.. Ever since I've been a vegetarian I've hardly gotten any pimples and I did get more before. My main thing was greasy food and yeah sometimes dairy like ice cream or something.. Cheese is really the only dairy I eat and its not problem for me but I would just say eat as little of it as you can. Food from a fast food place is generally greasy so that could have been why you got acne after eating at sonic.
Hey man if you really didn't want to eat cheese, you wouldnt.. Straight up. Just prepare your own food or something. Cheese is definately not that hard to avoid, get creative, friend.
My acne has actually gotten worse in the last year (I've been vegetarian for 2.5) even though I have been slowly transitioning to a vegan diet. I'm pretty sure the culprit is that I stopped taking birth control pills after about 4 years of being on them (they were also the kind that is supposed to help clear up your skin). I feel like I'm back in high school, sometimes my acne just goes nuts. But I prefer not to poison myself with the hormones & chemicals in BC pills anymore... I don't drink milk, only very rarely eat organic eggs, and I do eat organic cheese on occasion. I am going to try cutting out cheese to see if it helps at all (even though I'm not a fan of cheese substitutes). I also use a facial care system called Acne Free and take natural herbal supplements that are supposed to promote clear skin (just started taking these more regularly though). Hopefully after making this system more of a routine it will start to help. I've heard a lot of people say their skin cleared up when they went vegan, probably because dairy produces mucous in your body. It's worth a shot!
Hey cooked fat is sooo bad for acne, because it puts enormous stress on the liver which is almost always stressed out because of our poor diet/lifestyle/toxic environment anyway. Your liver is one of your biggest internal organs responsible for detoxing you, and its not something you wanna abuse because most people need detoxing more and more these days. When you cook fat it hydrogenates and the molecular structure changes completley, and becomes carcinogenic + the leading cause of heart disease which is the biggest cause of death in this country right now. The slow death of fast food is what you chose when you eat fryed food and too much animal food. Pasteurized(cooked at high heat) dairy that's been melted in some recipe=super-cooked fat. Mix that up with the pesticides and hormones and iodized salt and additives that are prob. in conventional dairy and youve got a lot of liver trouble. Cheese and milk even in its raw state is a pretty viscous thick heavy food that requires a strong digestive force and fast metabolism that most people are much other than having. Good fat replacements wouold be something like avocado or cacao beans...and good liver foods would be lemon* or dandelion or any kinda fruit or vegetable really. The lighter the food=the lesser the burden the whole body has, the less you have to detox, the less your skin starts lettin out what it needs to. Your body trys to detox through the skin. The skin is one of the biggest eliminative organs aside from the bowels... You could get a colonic and allow your body to detox through that avenue and I would almost guarentee an improvement in your acne...but Idk if you would wanna do that, lol. Avoiding cooked oil of any kind will help your skin tremendously....
The lack of pills are most likely your cause of acne.. I went off mine for a month and was a mess. That sucks. I always wonder how people's bodies go back to normal after you stop taking them..
Do you think it could be the fast-food as oppossed to the cheese? If you ate low-fat cheddar on veggies do you think you would have still woken up with acne? I'm just curious.
I am going to try to eat some cheese from home. Not the greasy fast food cheese. I don't think it's the grease as much as the cheese, though, because I eat tots at sonic sometimes because I usually don't have but a buck or two for lunch and they typically don't irritate my skin. I'll have to completely cut it out, however, and try eating cheese from home... the healthy stuff that my mom buys. lol
Well in my culinary school nutrition class they said Cheese can cause allergic reactions, Cheese definetly can cause pheglm , it can most definetly cause acne.
nevermind, I don't need cheese. It's just not worth it. I ate a bit of cheese the other day and it gave me a stomach ache all day. Besides, I really didn't want to eat cheese anyways. Thanks for the help guys.
