We the people…numbed by the dirge of the capitalistic media empire are asleep at the wheel with our eyes wide open!

Now is the time for action…

get off our collective asses and proactively tend earth’s garden and cultivate the seeds of peace, love and happiness.

    • stop overpopulating the planet.
    • stop making arms that shoot bullets and wrap our human arms around each other.
    • believe in the sacredness of this earth.
    • celebrate this wondrous life.
    • see each other as brothers and sisters.
    Help me here folks…

I have been actively working on growing peace, love and joy in the world around me. I do it in my backyard garden, and the garden of all things good.

I populated the earth with 5 very awesome young women who will make 5 very awesome men very good life partners, and they will have children who will work to make this world a better place. It's not too many people, its too many who are part of the problem, and not the solution.

Yes, lets wrap our arms around each other, and throw our arms of war down.

This earth is the only one we have, and I think it is the first priority before any other change, because without a clean and liveable earth we will all perish. I'm with supporting Al Gore, and hope we can uncover and heal the "Inconvenient Truth" syndrome that keeps perpetuating environmental unrest.

We should celebrate everyday we are alive, and look at it as another chance to make a positive difference. Party for peace till you drop.!!!

Seeing each other as brothers and sisters may be the most difficult thing for me to do. In theory, it seems like the loving thing to do, but the thing I have the most difficulty with, and I seem to rather avoid people and the inevitable confrontations that come with being more actively involved. I am working on letting more people in, and trying not to judge others so harshly. If we can let our egos diminish in size, and realize we need to work together to alter the seemingly doomsday, downhill course that the world seems to be on, we will have succeeded.

I believe that our most instinctive drive is to find peace, love and harmony in our environment.

As humans we are born into a world trusting that our parents and our community will help us each learn to be responsible, honest human beings.

That all sounds good on the surface but we have been betrayed by a corrupt social ethic that demands that we conform to principles that place ultimate value into an abstract ideology, an ideology that demands conformity and an ideology that accepts authority as the ultimate source or truth (sound like a typical hierarchal bureaucracy???)

The media, god and our educational institutions jointly strive to manipulate the way we think. We are educated to conform to the status quo. We are educated to be competitive god fearing consumers.

We think we are reasonable people and that we know what the hell is going on. And then reality knocks…we look at the pollution and children suffering and we seek shelter behind closed minds. Why do we respond in this way? Why do we turn our backs? Why can't we see that we ARE all brothers and sisters? Because...we are mindlessly responding to the program. Them and us.

Our “I’s” are “educated” to accept authoritative truth as ultimate truth and we are programmed to desensitize our intuition with booze, drugs, TV’s and/or religion. Our I’s become the talking heads of consumerism. Our truth becomes the program.

Therein lies the revolution of our times... to learn to trust our intuition and to learn to trust each other....to learn to think good thoughts and to do good deeds. Wake up america...we cannot afford to trust a government or a god that does not trust and respect us all as children of this earth.

The most shameful, repugnant and wretched example of our collective blindness is that gardening is not the foundation subject of any education. Mother Nature is being burned at the stake of capitalism!

    Amen Brother and Sister. Amen.

I spread peace around my school everyday, i stop fights and suicide.

I just can't understand why war is so damn important to the Bush Administration...since when is war and hate a top priority of this country.
We came to this country to exscape religous persecution so why are we doing exactly what we ran from.
Every person, every child, every family is entitled to freedom on the day they are born.
No matter what race, nationality, country, or family, everyone is entitled to freedom. So why are some governments taking freedom away? To control the masses, so we can become mindless drones without the power to say no to the government.

I can't believe this world that i have come to know and love, has turned out to be so cold and harsh. When I can't trust and love my Brothers or my Sisters and i can only trust myself. How terrible is that?

We are born to this earth and expected to take care of it and it's children in any way shape and form....so why aren't we? What's stopping us? The Media, The government and the corruption of man.

    Peace, Love, Unity and Revolution
Sorry if my words seem jumbled..i have trouble translating my thoughts into words.

A we the people government is only too powerful when we the people stop governing ourselves. A we the people government is corrupt when we the people condone or passively allow behavior that supports competitive consumerism, environmental degradation and social fascism. A we the people government sins when we the people teach our trusting children to compete and possess and to bow to a corrupt we the people authority. The bottom line is that we the people are sitting on our fucking we the people hands entranced by the drone of mind numbing TV programming and the babble of self indulging we the people bureaucratic zombies. If we the people want good we the people government then we the people better damn well get off our we the people God fearing self-centered, self-indulgent, head-in-the-sand, collective we the people asses *We the people must start caring about... we the people* You and I MUST be honest, do good work, think good thoughts, do good deeds, cooperate, celebrate nature and each other and above allYou and I must teach our kids to be good gardeners.

What if overpopulation is our only source of survival, the more there are of us, the harder it will be for an asteroid to plummet from space and kill us all. If we werent shooting and killing eachother, the plunder of the over population of earth, which is happening according to you, our world would more slowly be entering dismay. Why are you trying to force your belief that this earth is sacred on me, for if you saw me as a brother, and were also celebrating this wonderous life that exists, according to you, youd realize that, none of that honestly mattered. :bigear:

Force?...According to me it doesn’t matter?...Where did you find these words?

We are all children of this earth, that’s my opinion. You are free to agree or not. I see you as a brother. But I do not know you. You talk words but I know not your deeds. You seem to have no tolerance for differences of opinion. If you want force check out the military arsenals of our Jewish, Christian and Muslim brothers.

    Force?

This earth is sacred. That's also my honest opinion. Are you afraid of my words?

    Force?

I dance this sacred life and I celebrate often. You are invited to join the many others that do see and do dance.

But force???...odd choice of words! Freudian slip?

No...life does matter to me! your opinion does matter to me…but I do not understand it. My path is peace and love. I try to understand those that diverge.

An ad hominem attack is a logical fallacy describing the attempt to discredit an argument by merely attacking the credibility of the arguer.

Mushy...I speak my truth...Obviously, I'm a fool. You are wise beyond your years. You immediately saw through my ruse. I should have known that my juvenile 10 year old rants would make no sense to your enlightened wit and superior mind Mushy. In the future you should not waste your valuable time on this lost soul.

Thanks for your advice...let me think on it for awhile.

    Peace and love/

WE THE PEOPLE must take back the country that was wrested from our hands from the get-go....take back the control that was warrented to us in the first place

WE THE PEOPLE must stop being complacent and having the "well, it aint affecting me" attitude!!!

WE THE PEOPLE must begin at home....think of others before yourselves. Think of us as a collective whole instead of a bunch of induviduals living in the same spot.

Let's get off of the "ME" trip

You're not saying anything revolutionary. We (people or countries that would like peace) can not lay our weapons down if there are aggressors (especially groups or countries) who will push us aside or walk over us. And they're around unfortunately. Of course we should use our weapons only for defensive reasons.
Also, I do agree with Mushy that believing in the sacredness of the earth is not necessary to do good and be a peace-loving person.
However you make some good points, they'll only work if all of humanity or at least a vast majority are convinced of them and following those points. I do agree though that at least we can start with ourselves and our surroundings.

It isn't in the saying... The pleas for peace and love have been heard since the beginning of recorded history. Nothing new there. It's the doing it that is revolutionary.

It is your choice as to how you see the world. Sacred, mystical, togetherness? Real-estate, fences, ownership, mine???

    Your choice!

Mmm Hmmm.......yeah man.....Anger and rage make the veil thicker.... not more transparent....i'm reminded daily that we are looking for human beings that are trying to evolve and flower into the perfection and beauty that they already are. I was sowing some seeds the other into my 15 yr old.....I was sharing with her that at dusk and at dawn the veil that separates what we can see from all that we don't is thinnest. I love being in the garden then the most.
We have a burning desire to bring people to the garden....give them part of our small patches...if they're serious and then help them learn how the Universe functions for themselves.

"How much truth can a spirit bare...how much truth can a spirit dare...that became for me more and more the real measure of value" ...i'm with Nietzsche on that as I can tell you are too.

First I'd like to say thankyou brothers and sisters for dispelliing the spell of disillusionment, that has been weaving round my mind by the words of some here who do not seem, at all, to hold to anything akin to a hip ethic.
I have a poem I wrote on the 4th of July a few years back on the subject of "We the People" it is at
    http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198781
Yes, I know more disillusionment, some day I may figure out how not to set my self up for it, but it will not be by becoming a hypocrit. Hypocracy is a "darkside" opiate that numbs the consience and allows a person to live a lie while, congradulating themselves by believing they live truly.

Yes, as the poem indicates I was in the military, it was an accident:&, it was 1973, the war had officially ended, the counterculture was rapidly falling apart, no more protests, or demonstrations, and one day, high as heaven on shrooms, an friend and I decided to hassle an Air Force recruiter, he is probably still laughing. I did luck out, in a way, by getting what has to be the best possible job in the Air Force, i.e. an Air Traffic Controller, two things about this job made it possible for me to nearly make it through my enlistment; we could only work 27 hours a week by federal reg. and we could have no other Air Force duties. Oh and as well this was just before drug testing began, I had a pot bar in my room, read a ton of science fiction, tripped around New Hampshire, all as consciousness was being revived after the brainwashing of basic training, and tech school. When I woke up I flipped, at the first opportunity I committed mutiny on the basis of "deep seated philosophical beliefs" and after 4 months of enduring exposure to progressively higher ranking, and pissed off "military minds", got out with an honorable discharge.

Okay I said all that by way of an apology,in the formal sense, to validate how I could have been in the military and be sitting here typing away about hypocracy, and as well establish that I am intamitly familiar with the military mind.

David Crosby nailed accurately one part of the problem today when he sang of "military maddness is killing my country." But the psychosis of the mind given over to militarism wasn't enough to kill a country, and too obviously smacks of totalitarianism for it to get past an American public that at the time the first signs of the death plague showed up, were still too much aware of the principles upon which that country was founded. No, to kill the great experiment of a government of the people, by the people and for the people, that would take something far more insideous and pernicious. Even the unholy mating of the miltary with the industrial complex whose leaders are the fools who became their tools, when they became "capitalists", not even that black wedding could undo "We the People." But another demonic wedding that tookplace just as the United States was just coming into maturity, was there to add it's pathenogens to the unholy brew that brought the fatal plague to the United States. The wedding bells of Madison Avenue and network television were the bells keening out the death knell of "We the People." There is a song, that if you want to regard being a "Hippy" as a religion, then I would have to say the author of this song is one of our greatest prophets...

    I'm The Slime
    Frank Zappa

I am gross and perverted, I'm obsessed and deranged,
I have existed for years, but very little has changed.
I'm the tool of the government and industry too,
For I am destined to rule and regulate you.
I may be vile and pernicious, but you can't look away,
I make you think I'm delicious with the stuff that I say.
I'm the best you can get.
    Have you guessed me yet?
I'm the slime oozing out from your TV set.

You will obey me while I lead you
With the garbage that I feed you,
Till the day that we don't need you.
Don't go for help, no-one will heed you!

    Your mind is totally controlled,
It has been stuffed into my mould.
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold.

"That's right folks, don't touch that dial"

Well I am the slime from your video, oozing along on your
    living room floor.
I am the slime from your video, can't stop the slime people
    look at me go.

Madison Avenue the Mecca of the advertising industry, has exploited the power of television beyound what even those who tried to warn us about it thought. Since the "keep up with the jones", mentality of the 50's, and with no concern for the effectsd, advertising has made practically a science out of manipulating peoples purchasing choices. Television networks run on the basis of advertising revenue, it should be obvious that what actually determines programming is what exposes more people to the professional brainwashing on the part of corporations, that is the sole product of the very "industrious" whores of Madison Ave.

The plague that killed our country was an old deadly sickness mutated into a social pathology, that sickness was consumption and the plague today is consumerism.

I am not saying, nor do I believe that at this point in the ontogenesis* of the developing plague that there was any conscious efforts involved, these forces arose from the co-evolution of the individuals of a species and the social structures they form. However once humans become aware of a "force" it is our nature to bring it under our control, to use it for our own purposes. I suspect that this has begun, and that those using these forces are well enabled to do so. If you haven't noticed there is practically no "middle class" left in America, and despite all the lip service given to "family values" most households cannot survive without both parents working full time jobs. we no longer work to build a better life, we work to merely survive, and go into debt to do that.
I am very much afraid that these once mindless artifacts of cultural development, are now in the hands of "dark siders", and the day they stole the whitehouse is the day the United States of America, ceased to be and a government of the people by the people and for the people did indeed perish from this land. Perhaps last the chance for "We the People" to exert any influence is quickly passing. There is a major obstacle however to this happening and it is a repugnent reality, particularly to we who so much so want to see love as the guiding principle for social interaction, and who advocate that we ought strive to be in harmony with nature. For you see our nature is the problem, the very nature that is being used so effectively against us, selfishness.
Well I warned you it was repugnent. I was totally opposed to this notion when I came across it during my aborted training to become a professional investigator into the nature of being human, but to deny reality is to live a fantasy and render oneself as ineffectual for change, and one thing I've known since the 60's is change is necessary.
This I have come to know as certain, the accurate and necessary knowledge it would take to avert the complete fall of civilization and the very likely, extinction of humankind is now available, it is a source of no small discomfort to me that I have yet to learn a way to communicate it that people can hear, and not dismiss it due to the inept communication skills of the one attempting to tell it.
For the sake of all humanity, and the incredible wonder of every individual human, being, may there once again be...
    POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Yeah, I'm aware that you ment that it is about doing. But my point was that doing it like the way you put it (as a collective) isn't going to happen, altough it sounds nice.
We the people as a whole aren't going to get of our collective asses. Of course we as individuals can start doing and give a good example, but you can't ask a collective like a country like the U.S. to lay down all arms and leave it defenseless. Maybe if the U.S. showed some good will and disarmed all nuclear weapons, that would be a good and reasonable start.
