My court date is in 2 weeks, and I am wondering, if it happens that I get charged with the minimum sentence, which is 10 years, should I go out with a sick speech like Al does at the end of "And Justice For All" ? haha that would be great, although it may get me in more trouble lol :) There is a chance that the charges may be dropped but at this point it doesnt look hopeful, but I still have hope anyway. But yea have any of you been in a court room, and if so did you do or say anything that was funny or memorable?

many many many times i have been to court. i go at least 2ce a month because i live with a bunch of hoodlums and their always subpoena-ing my ass. personally though i havent been arrested since i was like 15, not counting this particular incident that happened a few weeks ago. i went to juvie breifly when i was 14 but other than that i must say ive gotten away with a lot of shit.
i suggest you dont say anything that will make them want to pepperspray you. and trust me they will their not fuckin around. then again maybe the cops arent assholes in your town who knows. but yeah i havent really said anything that funny in court i usually show up hella blazed unless its my ass on the line.

): What charges did you get brought up on? I've been to court, mostly traffic court, but once I got charged with reckless driving and had to go to 'real court'. I learned from my traffic court experiences to just act very humble and be very quiet except when asked a question.

Hit & Run, and Reckless Homicide.
But it is not like it seems, I know everyone says that, but it really was not my fault it was a major accident

    awww thats no good :(

they wont go easy on you with a charge like that. a couple of my boys are in prison for just that and lets just say i wont be seeing them anytime soon. and the fucked up thing about that is this other guy that i really dont like too much straight up killed a guy in cold blood and was in and out within a year. there is no justice.

anyways i want to know what happened if you dont mind talking about it

Well, long story short, I was driving down the highwaY at like 1 am, wamp wmap what it do, and I was on my way back to the hotel where my ex fiance and my baby were. Then all of a sudden, something smashes into my rear passanger side door. So Im like WTF???? And I was 4 blocks away from my hotel, so I didnt stop right away as I had no idea what hit me (yes, dumb idea I know) and called the police from there. And thats it :) I spent the rest of my vacation in jail, and the girl left me, so I have the baby and I have just been chilling waiting for this date since July 4th.

I went to court once for a ticket. I fell asleep... when I got to the stand the judge asked me if I had a nice nap. :D

That's terrible RELAYER... I hope that everything goes well for you in court. What evidence do they have against you that make it seem like "reckless homicide"?

Thanks buddy :) The evidence they have, well they claim that since I didnt pull over and render aid, or call the police from the scene, that I guess if he did not die on the spot but died a little afterwards then I would be responsible for his death. BUT, like I said, there is some chance that he might have lived. They were trying to scare me in the bail court, saying shit like "the police and paramedics thought the guy was dead when they arrived" and thats when they told me that I could be charged so heavily.

Why don't you know if the guy is alive or not? Seems like you would be able to know so so long after the accident.

That's complete bullshit though.... argh... if they want to put ya in jail, then run run run to the mexican sun.

I dont know, because the judge told me that it is one of my restrictions in the case to be in the dark and have no contact with the person or the family. However, about 2 weeks after the accident my lawyer told me the person was alive, although no some serious life support, so that is why I still have hope :)
Oh, and I would love to run, except not I am a single father and I cant :(

I know it's rediculous. Isn't it weird though, how I tried to do the right thing my whole life, I am a responsible parent, I never even been to jail or anything before this, gets so fucked?! I never fuck around, I work everyday, raise my son properly even though I live in one of the worst areas of this city and drugs are constantly aroud me lol, I was a very repectful and caring boyfriend, and just try to be the nicest, most honest person I can, and all this shit happens. I mean I even lost my fiance over this, which I now realize was good because she showed her true colors, but I have to really reflect on why positive people get pushed out of the light so often. Anyway, I am not afraid of jail, however long it may be, because I know that I have no fear of meeting God on my judgement day, and I will not let a prison system take away my mental freedom, because that is the one thing no body has the power to take from you :) I dont care about friends, family, (well I care about my son), having fun, trying to make money, nothing like that and I never did, so really I am not afraid of the court date, because I have no way to change anything now. Whatever will be, will be :)

that is an awesome attitude to have. but even though you dont give a fuck, im sure your friends and family do, your son in particular. like i know how hard it is to be a young ass kid and have a parent in jail. but regardless you cant change anything thats already happened. the attitude you have will do you good though it will make things a lot easier when you do get sentenced. but now that i kinda have an idea what happened i doubt theyll give you 10 years. i really doubt it.

bad things happen to good people you dont always have control over it. but it will all balance out in the end. everything happens for a reason and i think sometimes it really does take something that intense to make you realize who it is you want to keep in your life. if you fiance is going to hold that shit against you as if you did it intentionally or some shit then she obviously didnt know you that well to begin with, right?
