i love meat; alot. this year i want to challenge myself during lent, and we'll see if i can make it all the way through. question though, should i include seafood as meat or not? (if i was a vegetarian id say it is meat, but since im not and its just lent i was wondering if i should just stick to excluding animals from the land and sky.) thanks
Historically, the Catholic church hasn't included fish with other meats, as far as not eating meat on Fridays and such goes. Lent is pretty much about your own self-control and devotion anyway, so it's up to you.
true. im not catholic, and actually im not even that religious. anyway- i'm just stuck over whether i should or shouldnt because i hate it when people call themselves vegetarians and still eat fish meat
I would include fish and eggs as meat. They are both animals and if you truly want a challenge they should be included.
I couldn't give beef up, no way. Beef is the way forward in meat products. But fair play, I hope you stick to it! And I don't think veggies eat fish but I'd say it's your choice!!! Are ya that hooked on meat? lol
yeah im getting ready to eat a yummy steak but i would never give up meat only on fridays in lent but i say u allow urself to eat fish
I'm a vegetarian. ITs really easy actually, just eat morningstar farm veggie burgers, their REALLY good. maybe you'll stick with it and join us
Yeah but, mate, you can't seriously live on them things alone can you.. My cousin's a veggie and he's WELL into his Quorn foods. I had a bite of a Quorn burger once.... ...One felt rather ill.
I think many people eat fish on those fridays... my friend worked at burger king and said they sold lots of fish during lent.. but goodluck for the challenge, ive never really made it all the way
Sea creatures are animals, they're meat, so I'd exclude them. If you continue to eat them after lent then you haven't exactly given up meat. It's all up to you though, good luck
i think ill give up fish too, but keep eggs (cus theyre animal products) i know that it can be argued that eggs are meat and whatever, but i dont want to make an argument out of it. thanks for the advice guys
I am proof that man can live on morning star farms brand fake meats, pita bread, hummus, corn, and water
i consider fish meat, and i just decided to become a vegetarian this week, so far so good. i too hate when people say stuff like "im vegetarian, but i eat fish" or "im vegetarian but i eat bird" but whatever, good luck
good luck my bru. The first week is the hardest week, mostly because you accidentally eat meat because your family keeps on forgetting that your a veggie and gives you dishes with meat in them without telling you
I eat seitan occasionally but i try to stay away from morning star and those other brands as they are owned by larger corporations (Morning Star Farms is owned by Kelloggs). I think i read something about these brands having GMO in them although I am not sure.
One of my biggest pet peeves, especially when you try to explain that vegetarians don't eat any animals and they still try to convince you they're one. But anyway, good luck with it
