I'm doing recruiting work for the commune that I live on (you can find us at www.twinoaks.org). Right now, we have a lot of younger members and we're looking for people in the 30/40/50 year old range. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any magazines directed towards that age group. It would be ideal if the magazines are accepting articles and/or classified ads (so that we can either advertise in them and/or ask them to write about us). Any information you could share would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    -Bubble

AARP mag kicks in at 55 i think.
if they have a younger spouce like my husband and myself he is 8 almost 9 years older than me it may help a lil.

I'm 40 and I like to read Mother Jones and Utne. I don't know if that's an age thing but they are both good mags for lefty, open minded, intelligent types. Also I visited Twin Oaks some years ago, what a wonderful place! I'm sure you'll attract good people.

homestead magazine and country living both sort of cater to homesteading folks and community type places... both have articles written by readers and are for the readers. I have also seen many letters/ articles etc pertaining to communal places etc.... those would be the first places i would check out...

utne i know is all written by readers however i dont know if they really cater to alternative living means.... booth homesteader and country living have websites etc in order for you to glean more info....

You could also probably recruit some people right on this site. I would defenitely be interested in becoming a part of the right community. You should make a more detailed post for here.

    Peace be in you
