I think when he has a few more wrinkles and more grey hair he might have a chance.
In other words he has not got a hope now. Maybe in a decade or so.

Can you please give more comment than just a link and one sentence.

Are you for or against the move, do you think he has a chance etc.

I think he is AWSOME... if he has a chance, I really hope so. I do know there are alot of people rooting for him but he also has a lot of hurdles.

this was part of a blog i posted the other day on myspace

I thought about it and i have come to the conclusion that maybe we need someone like Obama to be our next president...

Someone with a fresh outlook on things, an idealist, someone who hasnt been in politics for 70+ years..................... maybe a completely different point of view is what we need in the white house!!

Some politicians never friggin die, they keep living forever, it is like they hook em up to life support and use that trick from princess bride with the fire place blower to make them blurt shit out.................... and no one tells them "hey your really old, take a break", I think maybe we need someone a little younger who isnt so stubborn and set in his OR her (but good lord not hillary) ways!!! Someone has to take a new approach and change things up or were gonna keep going on and on this way forever...

Obama has more then a chance. He is going to wake up all of the americans who have never given a damn about politics. You can't help but like the man. He's a great speaker. I agree with Funky, we need someone new. He was on of the few politicians who was originally against the Iraq war. No "fence-hoppers" here.

I think part of the appeal of people like Obama is that they aren't carrying all that excess baggage that people born right after the war are carrying. People are getting tired of those like Bush and Kerry going back 35 years and squabbling over Vietnam and trying to relive past glory (or hide past embarassments). Obama was at the tale end of the boomer generation and isn't caught up in all of that old school squabbling.

He doesn't stand a chance. He's being put forward by those that wish to break the focus.

Julian Bond...anyone remember him? You all like to say that Ralph put the wrench in Al Gore's campaign he didn't without your permission. Remember Colin Powell, many won't after a few years, he was used as well. His son got a cushy job so I guess it paid off. Obama's connects will pay off too, just like Julian Bond's did.

Do you think he stands a chance against Clinton? She's recently announced that she's "in to win" the presidential race. Personaly I don't like either one of them. cc

He doesn't stand a real chance to get elected against anyone. It's a shame that the money will spent on a campaign that only ends up mudding the waters. But I am sure no one will dare trash him like they did Ralph. But he will end up tying up votes that could be used else where. Same with Ms. Hilary. She's a joke that will never make it...think its the republicans that like to make out like she's a viable candidate.

Well they do have to go through the primaries so... No one is going to be taking votes from any one in the general election. He does have a chance I can tell a very importnat reason why. People know that what is going in the US right now needs to stop and there needs to be a drastic change. So for the rumors of who is going to be running in the rep. party are a bunch of men who have been on politics forever. Jon McCane for one is a man who is past his prime and shouldn't run, him in office wouldn't change a single thing. If we want change we have to stand up and shout for it not sit down and say that a man who would make the best president has no chance.

Not true at all. He has a huge chance to win. Right now the White House is up for grabs and there is a free for all for control. Obama has the support of many americans and the media defiently helps in hyping him up to be a godly creation of a candidate. I will probablly vote for him if he runs (but I will have to do more research when the time comes).

On a differnt note: I really wish Bill Clinton could be president again. In my oppinion he has been one of the best presidents to date (definetly since before Bush senior).

Maybe, i just think it will take more than his first stab at the presidency.

Do you not think the media will over hype him ?. Put him on a unpresidentedly high pedestal then watch him fall at the second or third hurdle.

I too can appreciate his support base. The problem is he has too many points against him. Whatever they hype. The reality will be he will fail imho.

He needs to mature and have a taste of loss. Then he may make a better president.
