I sort of just stumbled on the idea of communal living and its very appealling to me. at first my bf was like 'no!' but then i saw something come over him, a realization that it might just be a great experience. so can anyone give me a hand? im gonna be research communes in canada or possibly even in the states. are pets commonly allowed in communes? the thought of just renting out our home and taking off for however long to live with a tightknit group of people is really amazing. if anyone wants to share some experiences they have had in this lifestyle thatd be cool.
ic.org is the best place to start, If you're looking in Mb I can help you out a little since I know some people, have visited one commune and working on starting one... as for the pets thing that and many other things really depend on the individual communes, some do some don't, some will depend on the pet... if you plan on renting out your home you can't just take off unless the people you are renting to are super close friends or family of yours that you can trust, just because you're not living there does not mean you don't have responsibilities if you own it... I have a two bedroom myself and I plan on renting one of the rooms to a friend and when I come to town I'll have someplace to store stuff and sleep. hope you find what you are looking for.
just looking right now really. i saw that site, didnt find anything that really appealed to me. it would be a relative moving in actually they are looking for a place in the next few months and i just thought hey maybe? ya know. i'll continue looking, the idea just really appeals to me. maybe one day i will just buy my own land and have something like it.
