To toke your pet up or not to toke your pet up that is the question!

I always thought that The Kitty practiced way more discernment, discresion
caution and hygine/ groomimng than I was capable of.

    I was humbled.

She hated weed, a very smart girl.

actually, it's been observed that elephants will intentionally eat overipened apples to get a buzz thanks to the process of fermentation. yep it's true

You should never get your dog high on weed. But if you are a 16-18 year old mail sometimes the temptation is just too much to bear. If this the case, and you want it to work, blow it in his ear.

It's extremely cruel, in my opinion, and totally unnecessary. It's like getting a baby high, in my opinion.

It is cruel and the baby analogy does widen some perspectives (hopefully).

well back in the day my friends thought it was funny to get my dog high. he would lie down. get up. walk a foot. lie down. get up. walk a foot. repeat about 10 times til he went to go munch some doggy food. never had any adverse effects, he lived to a ripe ol age but i would never let anyone get my dog high again. it was just kind of one of those things that happens when you are young and dont really want to say no to your buds, don't want to be a 'square'!.

nowadays i try to be very mindful of my animals when i smoke. if my cats are in the room i try to usher them out. would never t hink of getting my dog stoned. but even if we go in another room the animals usually come in, they like the smell i guess.

I agree completely. My animals are my children and my family, I'm not going to force drugs on them. (Hell...I won't even let people smoke cigarettes around my animals)

I don't think it's that bad, I mean I wouldn't give a pet like a serious drug like acid, or shrooms or anything like that, but I doubt if a dog comes into a room where there is smoking going on that it'd cause any serious damage.

I've never blown smoke in my dogs face but every once in a while i'll give them a little leaf or a soft stem to chew on. Every time they smell it they come right over to my boyfriend and I and want to eat it, but when we smoke it they go away. Sometimes when I have people over they will try and blow it in my pet's direction and I freak out on them because they only weigh like 5 lbs each.

I say no. Face it, weed isn't even really that good for us and animals are that much more sensitive with a different body chemistry. At least we get to make the conscious decision to toke or not - your dog is at your mercy.

One of my dogs got into a 40 bag and I swear he was never right after that! He was always a rather "cool" dog but man he was tweaked after finding that bag. He always sneezed when friends and I would smoke around him but other than that I would just let him do what he wanted to do. If he wanted to leave as long as we werent outside and not on a leash Id let him do what he wanted to do, bc I learned from letting him go do what he wanted to do w/out a leash on him. Was chillin wit friends and he got lost for a while. But we started up the car and I called his name and was all freaked out OMG I lost my dog........well he came up happy tail waggin and jumped in the car with us. He was my "portable" dog I used to ride my bike and hold him on my lap wit one arm and ride around. He loved that so much. God I miss that dog..............

But to answer the question no I wouldnt do that to my dog. If ur dog or cat wants to stay in the room with you then........eh let em but if they want to leave then let them do what they want to do. Thats my opinion on the topic. I however know that we had friends canaries in a cage and later on when we went to look in the birds cages after smoking, well guess what? We found the birds DEAD! That might tell ya somethin right there.

I wonder how many of these studies were on the anatomy of a dog? Humans/rats/people don't have the same anatomy, thus different things effect us differently.

Hello! My pup is now 5 moths old and drug free. Watching him you would think he is on speed he loves running. I am very glad I didn’t toke him up because maybe he wouldn’t of ran as much if he was stoned. He also turned out to be pretty alert dog and I need an alert dog because I have a few crack head neighbors. Anyway cheers!
