So...I just arrived in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. I decided to take a little 4 day trip here alone. Its pretty exciting being alone and figuring it all out myself. My first thought getting off the bus here was: "Where the FUCK am I???" but ti wasnt like "Oh, I have a general idea where I am I'll just go ask, I know this city." no....no no no. it was more like: "Uuuuuuuuh........where am I? I can NOT speak Danish (maybe my German will help?) and Ive NEVER been here before, I havent the SLIGHTEST fuckin clue where I am!" and it was quite funny. I laughed a bunch acutally. Cuz who just decides randomlz to go to Copenhagen for four days alone? And I laughed my way to my hotel, which I SOMEHOW found. hmmmm. I hope they speak good English ehre. And I need to make some friends quick so Im not bored tongiht. haha Have you ever been in a similar situation?? (btw Im on the interent cafe at my youth hostel in case ur wondering how im on here.) cheers and love! (im off to get lost and try and find a cool bar and meet people and find weed and a bunch of other random things.) Dylan
What possessed you to go? I don't mean that in a bad way, more of, wow...that's a completely random place to chose, and a random time of year to do it in...not to mention expensive. I wish I could do random stuff like that.
cant say that I have. But ih ave been in a place where i did know where i was and because of effects induced by drugs not known where I was
Ive been in that situation but allways with a friend or two. But then again it was here in the US and everyone spoke English, so I guess I haven't been in that situation. I will soon though. Not like soon soon but soon I hope.
haha guys everyone here has ghot to go to Freetown Christiana here in Copenhgagen, it is SO sweet, all teh people are so nice and its verz artistic and everyone lives all organically and naturally as possible and theres weed everywhere and its possibly as close to the "hippy utopia" as possible. haha i met some crazy peopel last night wow
Sounds sweet! I certainly wanna go there sometime soon. Yeah, I agree. I myself prefer to be in such a situation with a friend though. That already happened and I just love it. Wandering around and it doesn't matter if you don't know exactly where.
To give a summary: My first five minutes of goign to Freetown Christiana, I had weed. Then I walked around and talked to people and started conversations, and smoked with random people and went aroudn a bit, met the only other americna in Freetown Christiana, smoked up with him: he told me as we did it about how past: he used to be an LA Police Officer, and is now in the marines, but is avoiding it right nwo or something? I dunno, but I thoguht it was incrediblz funny, nad I could tell he musta been a cop, cuz he had a dicky kind of humor...haa but he was funny, then i left and weas walking aroudn the marketplace in the town, and one palce was selling pieces and stuff, and i talked to the stand owner, and he was smoking up behind the counter with a friend and they inivted me back, and i chilled in the marketstand by the warm heeater and smoked as it rained out in the really cold Danish weather. then i eventually left there and ran into the cop guy again and we smoked again at a bus stop.... haha I gota go, my internet time is almost up, im at a internet cafe in my youth hostel cheers, dylan
Haha, please don't. Most japanese are in a hurry to be on as many places as possible in the shortest amount of time. They don't take time to experience the culture of the countries they are visiting. You have to take your time on a good trip.
Reminds me of my uncle. When I go places with him I never get to actually be there or see anything because I'm gone before I even realize I've arrived But anyway, this thread has inspired me to go to Copenhagen Not saying I didn't want to go before, but now it's moved toward the top of my list. Keep on having a great time
I even heard that there are copies of wellknown places in the world (like the typical view of Holland for example) made in Japan, so that the people who can't afford to go on a big trip still can impress other people with pictures of their visits. Don't know for sure if they visit those copies for that reason though, I find it hard to believe.
:H Wasn't serious... I just think Niagara Falls is one of the most hilarious destinations as far as tourist demographics go. It's like... trying to cram a little bit of every country and casino in the world into one little city. Horseshoe falls = friggin amazing, but everything else is like "What does that doing over there?"
