Yeah, I do like it. Not my favourite rock album ever, though.

Yeah it's been rated pretty highly in a lot of "best albums of the century" type lists. I downloaded it and so far I've only given it one spin, but I liked it a lot. I should definitely give it another go soon.

Hard to top Revolver, though :)

The good thing about Forever Changes is that it gets better each time you listen to it! When I heard it the first time I thought it was OK. The second time I liked it alot, and the third time I loved it! And now I have probably heard it a thousand times, and it just gets better and better!

Good call - funny you say that because I decided to listen to it last night, partly because this thread reminded me of it, and I really enjoyed it :) There's really some beautiful stuff on there... catchy, but not too predictable. Last night I particularly enjoyed The Good Humor Man He... I really like the part where the vocals resolve, and then the strings (mandolin? not sure what it is) plays the ascending doo doo, doo doo, doo... doo doo... haha I really shouldn't bother to describe music in words if I'm too lazy to do a better job than that, but whatever :) I get a kick out of that part every time

I saw Arthur Lee & yet another incantation of 'Love' at The Queen Elizabeth Hall,The South Bank in June 2002 & It was the best rock'n'roll gig i've ever been to & believe me I've seen a lot of the big name acts.
I'm so pleased that I managed to catch Arthur Lee,live;little was I to know that he would die 4 years later.(Bryan Maclean & Ken Forssi are dead too).
Of course 2007 marks the 40th anniversary of: 'Forever Changes'.
It's interesting to note that upon it's release in October 1967 it didn't even penetrate the Billboard Hot 100 L.P. Chart.
Now: many music fans & critics judge it to be 'finer' in musical creativity than:'Sgt,Pepper' or 'Pet Sounds'.
When I first heard this L.P. over a Record Shop tannoy;I was completely enchanted by it's beauty.I agree with the above that I must have heard it over a hundred times & still haven't tired of it.

Ive listened to this album quite a few times. I do agree its an awesome album, and very underrated, but I would not consider it as the best rock album ever, nevertheless.
