ive been a very healthy vegan..eating and vitamins and water intake, and also i exercise daily and i still havent lost any weight.....im at a total loss and i think im just meant to be fat.....
is your blood pressure and sugar low and all that? If so I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are healthy and happy. I am at a stand still too, but I think mine's from holiday boozing. I pork up pretty fast but then lose it really fast too. I switched from beer and wine to vodka and mineral water when I go out and that helped a bit. I'm gonna start my period soon though so I feel like a freaking cow.
yeah im completely healthy...i just have been trying forever to lose weight to no prevail...im getting frusterated!
I wouldn't trip on it if you're healthy and eating right. People just come in all different size and shapes...do you know of Kate Dillion?...that is one hot, healthy woman that would be considered 'fat' by medical standards.
do you keep a food journal? how 'bout an exercise journal? both of those tools can greatly increase your ability to meet your goals if you stick to them. you'll be able to see improvements over time. what exactly are you doing for exercise? have you read any of my replies to hummblebee Runnig vs Walking thread? or the articles i put up in the "women and weight lifting thread"?
Two things...first, how are big are your servings of food? Just because you might eat healthy, proportions could be a problem... And two, maybe this is your healthy weight? If you're not having medical problems...I don't see an issue at all.
I agree with Bella- people come in different shapes and sizes! If you're healthy and still not able to lose weight, maybe your body's hanging onto it for a reason? Everyone has a certain weight that their body will work really hard to maintain, thats their true weight.
I always know if I need to lose weight not by my weight but how my complexion looks. I start breaking out if I get too heavy or inactive. Your skin looks gorgeous by the way. Sometimes I'll workout for an hour and be completley inactive the rest of the day and I will actually gain weight because I sit on my ass. I get fit the quickest when I workout and move as much as possible during the day...which is hard because this site and myspace are freaking addicting! Lots of cardio has always worked for me because I am naturally muscular and always end up toned when the fat comes off. Also, I gained weight eating veggie and organic because I could easily devour a bag of those whole grain dairy free chocolate chip cookies during my favorite tv show and the healthy cookies have more fat and calories than the normal sugar and dairy laden ones I ate when I was not eating healthy. Healthy food has so many calories in it I had to learn portion control with sweets. It sounds and looks like you are really happy and healthy though and your hubby looks pretty damn pleased int hose pictures so...wanna go get a ricedream 'milk' shake with me? I could go for a chocolate peanut butter cup one.
hey bella, i totally understand where you're at right now.... two things that can make or break your dieting attempts are portion control and cardio. Pilates can also help too by helping you to build lean muscle without weights or exhaustion. Best of luck my dear!
thanks! I am lucky my mom has a pilates reformer. I am ashamed to admit I hardly ever use it ): I should use it more often.
hmm thats a good point..i just hate the fact that in medical terms im whats considered morbidly obese...but im really not fat more just muscle...i dunno...im confused by that standpoint..and my food servings arent that big at all really, and i watch how many calories i consume daily well my complexion isnt the best at the moment and thats something else im trying to figure out....like i said before i take very good care of myself, but im getting really frusterated by the fact that my weight isnt going down.....and yes a ricedream "milk"shake would be splendid...lol
do you eat lots of grains? If you eat things that don't agree with your system, your body might respond by storing it in your fat cells (treating it like a toxin). How long have you been exercising? It can take a really long time to notice results, especially if you are building more muscle in the process.
I gained weight after becoming a vegan... I went through a phase where I was all about nuts, avocados, all those lovely nutrient-rich foods that are also very high in fat (good fat) and calories. About 10 lbs in 2 years (I'm tall, so it wasn't a noticible change). Just because something is healthy doesn't mean that it will make you lose weight. My dad lost a whole lot a weight a few years ago by mainly drinking a lot more water. It helps clean out your system, so it can function better, and it makes it easier to burn fat (as he told me). But hey, if you're healthy and feel good, do what ever feels right for you. Every body is different.
Drinking five cups of green tea at each meal helps boost your metabolism, which means you burn calories faster. In addition, green tea helps you lose extra water weight.
