well it's official this baby in me is sitting on my sciatic nerve and i have no clue how to make it better. i went to the doctor and they didnt help at all or give any suggestions. what can i do to help ease the pain???? it is just killing me but the only reason i keep going is cuz i know no one else will keep the house clean, do laundry, and take care of aiden. i figured if i go for short walks twice a day that should help stretch me out or if i started stretching and getting out more that could help. please help me with this problem. thank you so much all OH also tomorrow we find out the sex of the baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not an expert, nor was i ever pregnant, but I'd think that exercise would help reposition the baby. May be you could try swimming in an indoor pool? Take more of those walks? Good luck with your appointment!

I'd go see a chiropractor if I were you. Just make sure it's one who is experienced in adjusting pregnant women, because it's not the same as for everyone else.

I had a lot of problems with a pinched sciatic nerve during my pregnancy with my oldest son. Surprisingly, I didn't have it as much with my twins.

Anyway, my pain got unbearable (and I refused to anything for it because I worried about how it would affect my baby) that I couldn't even walk or move about at all. I ended up seeing a chiropractor (who had a lot of experience dealing with pregnant women), which helped. I also learned some exercises to do that helped with discomfort. The heating pad also helped quite a bit.

Talk to your OB/GYN or midwife today when you go in, let them know what's going on and see what they suggest for you!

I feel for you hon, that pain can be absolutely horrible at times!

I've been having the same problem. The baby is pinching the sciatic nerve on my right side and has been for about 3 months now. Try not sitting in one place for too long, no more sleeping on your back, stretching your back and legs, and lying on the side that isn't bothering you. I also refused to take any medication for it and instead have been doing these few things to help try to alleviate the pain. It has helped somewhat but I haven't had it go away entirely. Also making sure you keep good posture will help.
