all this bickering about whos a hippy and who isn't makes me think about where the term "hippie" came from. I always though it just meant Hip Person, leading me to believe that to be a "hippie" is just to be a hip person. but then I thought what doesn't it matter.. don't really know why I posted this.
Hippie probably did mean "hip person" back in the day, but now, "hip person" means so much less... it refers to any wanker on the street wearing a $300 pair of jeans to look cool.
yeah i guess.. i suppose my point, though, was that all this arguing about is a hippie, and if you call yourself a hippie you can't really be one, is just so trivial I just don't quite see the point.
So since I label myself hippie for others to understand easier my beleifes and ethics, that I am not a hippie?
Charles Monson proclaimed to be a hippy................. Hey, has anyone seen my knife? Tate for tatt.
People say that you have to do drugs to be a hippie. I don't believe that one bit. I have a Beatles back up word on that too.... "There are ways of getting high without drugs-with yoga, meditation and all those things."-George Harrison "A hippie is supposed to be someone who becomes aware-you're hip if you know what's going on. But if you're really hip, you don't get involved with LSD and things like that. You see the potential that it has and the good that can come from it, but you also see that you don't really need it."-George Harrison
Jesus Christ. Who fucking cares? Are humans so conformist that we must worry about whether or not we conform to some ideal of nonconformity? Just be who you are, and don't worry about the rest.
