this sping i want to take my savings and get everything i will need to go out and live in nature, the way the indians did. i know alot about this subject and survial. what im looking 4 is a few like minded people to come out and crete a new tribe with me. i dont know why everyone has to be civilized. people have lived this way for tens of thousands of years. and especially, very recently here in america. i dont see any reason why that way of life has to die. why shouldnt we take back whats been stolen from humanity? __________________
that's awesome man, where are you planning to do this at, or is it going to be a nomadic thing like ya know go to the National Rainbow Gathering then travel to the next regionals after that? I did that before I had my daughter, it's a different kinda life I can tell ya that man, not always easy, definately not for everyone, but I loved it, shit man if I didn't have my daughter I'd probably still be out there now, but I got all the responsibility shit now, so yeah let me know how it goes and I'm really curious to know if your gonna rome around or if your gonna stay in one spot to do this.
imm gonna roam around a lttle, only if the gatherings are close by. am planning on having horses. so the traviling wont be to hard. but mostly i want to stay in a few general camps. cause things like food n firewood, need to be collected and stored 4 the winter. and shelters need to be built by then. or else ill end up being a starving popcicle
my advice would be for you to get together a starter Rainbow kitchen and take it to the national Gathering and set it up. People you can get along with will find their way to you there and mebbe share your vision. Just a post on an internet forum doesn't seem like the best way to find kindred spirits, you gotta do that in person. Keep the dream in the back of your mind and go to some gatherings or travel a bit and see if you can find your ppl that way. Otherwise you nvr know who is gonna show up.
yeah, i agree with earth mother. I think that maybe the horse idea is too much work. It would be hard for them to live off just the grass and travel everyday or whatever. Plus they need alot of water and stuff. If they get hurt, you never know what could happen. Just a heads up cause i have a horse and i know all teh responsibility it takes =p Good luck i wish i could come along. its my dream, but ive got school ahead of me yet. peace
Before we free nature in the wild we have to free nature in the city. The true savages & barbarians have taken our mother hostage and locked her in their concrete jail which they call streets and sidewalks. PEACE & LOVE
It is a great dream. I always wanted to live in a cabin up in the mountains. But I'm like Dragonfly, I've got kids. That makes it harder. But I wish you much Luck and Love.
I had been thinking of traveling the country with a horse drawn wagon going gypsy style selling crafts and working along the way. but I messed my back up and had too delay that plan but you might find some useful info on the subject here http://www.thelongridersguild.com/
There's still a few towns around the country where having a horse is feasable. You could even support them travelling like many other rainbows do w/o horses, get a bus or trailer (can horses travel on a bus? hmm...), the bus could carry them to where they can roam. If cops can have them.... How'd you think cops'd love it if a hundred people all showed up on horses! That'd be a lot of shit to bury! I have seen non-cops on horses before, but not that many. I understand you're only talking about a few people but now I'm just envisioning lots of them. Any time when you're travelling you could drop the horses off at point A and pick them point B. You'd get better gas mileage and feed the horses off the free earth. You could do pony-rides in towns in addition to your other crafts so theres all sorts of kickdowns including $, maybe it could work anyway, the reality's always a little harder to manage. The responsibility of one horse is probably like 5 dogs so I'd say go for it! The worst you can do is blow your savings, learn a lot and be able to start over. Good luck
we're plannin on by spring havin a bus and a couple tipi's at least, and lettin g a tribe , or more accurately a nomadic tipi villiage sorta evolve over the next few years
Hey, thats so cool. I miss this way of life here in Germany. You only have the possibility to live in houses with many people and to share money and food and have meals together. But I don't think that we have this way of freedom like you have in the USA. Really cool!
Hey, if you don't have it, make it! I'm sure you've got campgrounds, public woodland etc etc in germany. Have trust and the right people will find you (or vice versa) and it'll fall into place. Living on the land/on the road has always seemed like the best idea ever to me, but sadly I doubt my other half would go for it and there's no way I'd leave her behind.
Montana is full of open space the natives lived off of for hundreds of year, and could still be lived from for thousands more. I've always thought making a 'modern' tribe would be kinda groovy. Camping is something I do year round, I really enjoy owing nothing to anyone but myself and my 'tribemates'. Fishing, farming, hunting and gathering, that is the key. Montana is wild, deserted of humans in quite a few areas, you can LIVE for free in the badlands still. Message me back if you are interesting in the wild territories of the big sky and wanna get the real downlow on camping here. This is The highest mountain Bitterroot valley, Trapper Peak This is the view from the TOP of Trapper Peak, a trip worth while for sure! Look at the Big Sky.
