I'm trying to knit a sweater, but i'm at a loss on how to go about doing it. I think i've already botched mine up. It's going to be a two-toned sweater...left side is maroon, right side is orange. Anyway...I could really use some nice sweater patterns. I'm having trouble finding them on the internet. Does anyone know of an extraordinary site that i'm overlooking?

    sweater for guy? woman? child?

go to www.bernat.com, you're going to have to sign up to be a member, but it's free. There's at least 3 or 4 easy sweaters to knit on that site for anyone.

Lion Brand has a great website with instructions for beginning technique and beginner to advanced patterns for everything from fingerless gloves to skirts.

Knitty.com is an awesome site for patterns, but most require a bit of technique.

Don't be sad - you can't screw up knitting! Just frog it (unwind it) and start again!

    Peace,

    Trina

also, knitting intarsia (two yarns/colours or more) is a bit tricky, no matter how simple the intarsia is, especially if you're a beginner knitter. Knitty.com is a VERY cool site, but true, patterns are a bit advanced if you're a beginner.

If you don't find a sweater you like on the sites recommended above, you can always google 'free beginner knit sweater patterns' or something to that effect and go from there.
