My wife and I will be hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in April. Has anybody else doen the hike? Or something similar? It extends from Mexico to Canada, so it's going to be quite a distance to walk. I was wondering if anybody had any experiences to share, or any advice to give. Thanks :)

    Peace :)

There are about 1000 trail journals online by people who have hiked the PCT, the CDT, the ADT and the AT. This is not to mention the Florida Scenic Trail, the Long Trail, the John Muir, etc etc etc.

I'm preparing for an AT thru hike in '08.

I've hiked on sections of it in the Sierra Nevada, San Berardino mtns and San Gabriel mtns in California. The parts I've been on go through some great and beautiful areas especially in the Sierra high country. Can't really offer much advice except I hear that it can be difficult finding water in some of the southern desert areas.

A number of my AT hiker friends have also done the PCT. I suggest getting on www.whiteblaze.net to really get some good advice on hiking the PCT as its a different ballgame compared to hiking the AT.
