Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry Stonerbill. :& I jump to conclusions too quickly. I sincerely apologise. I did think it was odd though, as I'm also a fan of yours.

    ok it appears that:

    • you may have a downs person in your family or close to you
    • you did not regard any of teh issues i put forward in my last post
    • you beleive it is a right to spend your resources on other things, which makes no sense unless it was something you enjoyed, somehting that wasnt your responsibility, as you also mentioned
    • i neversaidanything about respirators, but all downs poeple ive ever seen do not move contolled and easily, and ive seen plenty
    • your ideal world has every normal person helping downs poeple which only isolates downs poeple MORE by making them a responsibility of every person around them
    • your comment that i was encouraging poeple to think certain thigns is jsut really really unintelligent and not liberal at all, for i didnt even give an oppinon, i gave an observation, and in more instances than not, a fact, and if you need ot hide reality in order to get people to follow your plans, then you certainly cant be doing an ethical thing.
now as i said, ive seen heaps and heaps of downs people around the place and ive never seen one who was prominent in society, or who was living a normal life.

now i dont wanna hear any more of your naivity until you adress the issues ive raised, not create yourown issues out of nothing as you jsut have done.

I am actually a diversity director at a non-profit and design and implement a program for children with special needs. Some of those children have down syndrome and after reaching adulthood have attained jobs which allow them to be independent and volunteer on a regular bases-this is more than I can say for socities majority.

And to whom it concerns-I never provide an opportunity to 'be put in my place'. Unfortunatley men with small dicks always have the desire to 'put bitches in their place'.

cool for you snow dude! Spread the word of equality-you may not think people are listening but when you tell them and plant a seed you will see them duplicate your action-and than you know your flower has blossomed.

    IT APPEARS THAT:

.IF YOU HAD DOWNS OR ANY OTHER DISABILIT, WOULDNT YOU( EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T UNDERSATND) WANT TO HAVE THE CHANCE TO LIVE AS NORMAL OF A LIFE AS YOU COULD?

.THAT YOU HAVE NOT SPENT MUCH TIME WITH A PERSON WITH DOWNS.
(HEY RAINMAN, YOU ARE GETTING WET)

.YOU DON'T KNOW THE HUMAN FACTOR.

.IT'S OK, WE ROLL BIG JOINTS TOO..........................................

I mist agree with John bongflonaho, if only I could have said it in such a way, it would have ben easier to show me resentment to the heartless words of Stonnerbill... and K+ to you Lindsay, were you doing that work at a community center or other? how could I join into helping also? here people are odd, and belive your looking to steal thigns if you offer to voulenteer... any tips on how to get into doing things like that

My hearts out to you Lynsey. My mom taught kids with special needs for years.Unfortunatly most of these kids don't live to be that old. She's in her 70's now and has seen her ex students pass on when they were in their 20's and it's been a real heartbreak for her.I have nothing but respect for you.

    aww thanks.

Yes something like that. I don't want to give away the organization because I would lose my job if they found out I smoked. But if you want to volunteer call a local non-profit. In the states UCP and Special Olympics are great volunteer opportunitties. I started volunteering when I was 17 and never expected to get paid position or have the opportunity to do what I do now. But volunteering will get you really far in social services.
For you guys in UK are your non-profits goverment run because of public health aide and socialized medicine?
