    As a "spider geek", I've seen tests where spiders (unknown species - I was young at the time and can't remember) were given different drugs. THC -does- make them slightly (and I mean VERY slightly) 'lazy'. Caffeine is hard to test because spiders are generally naturally jumpy (which is why THC only makes them slightly laid-back). But on LSD, spiders build more accurate (mathematically correct?), better-designed, thicker/stronger webs. I thought that was pretty cool. The webs that they built were more 'artsy' looking, and would be way better for catching food.

    Scientific tests aside, I have tarantulas. One of them is a full-grown adult female named Gracie, and my friends and I have gotten her stoned. I used a triple-chamber bong, hotboxed her tank until we couldn't see completely through it, opened the lid and blew all the smoke out, and then did it again... twice.
    Needless to say, she was baked. She just sprawled out on the sand, her legs stretched out, laying flat. If it weren't for the fact that spiders do the 'death curl' (curling their legs underneath them), I would have thought she was dead. I picked her up and she didn't do a god damned thing, just laid there like a pet rock.
