Well I had my first prenatal visit on Tues! All went very well, and I love my Dr. She is so wonderful, and I will feel so comfortable around her too! I had my first ultra sound today ! YAY...So exciting to see them for the very first time!! There is only (1) this time~ That's okay! I am very fortunate to have the twins I have, and thankful to only be expecting 1 this time around! I would have accepted two, But this time should be a piece of cake! The baby was very active and bouncing everywhere for me! And looks to have been sucking it's little wee thumb! Way to cute! I am approx 13 weeks, and expecting on July 21. I will have the baby a week earlier due to a schedules C-section! I get to skip labor, isn't that wonderful Here is a link to my FlickR account! http://www.flickr.com/photos/avaloos/sets/72157594474124751/ Feel free to peek at my other photos too!!
Congratulations! I love seeing happy preggo women! However...I don't think it's very responsible of a physician to say everything looks good and schedule a c-section at 13 weeks! I mean, a trial of labour is actually a good idea for the baby, as it helps develop the lungs in the instance that maybe they were off with your due-date and the baby is younger than they think. Not to mention, labour and childbirth help to make your body bounce back better. Unless there is some reason to believe that you couldn't in the slightest possibly labour, you should research VBAC (if you had a section with the twins) or at least a trial of labour! Know your facts! No one else will advocate for you!
it really is highly beneficial to both you and baby to experience labor, even if you do have the cesarean anyway. I did everything in my power to have my vbac, would have questioned myself for the rest of my life if I hadn't at least tried for it. But that's just me. Some few women (like Maggie) really can't vbac. Most can, regardless of what their insurance companies tell doctors to do. I found that an older OB won't let liability concerns dictate to them how to practice medicine. A second opinion never hurt anyone...
I should have know better by mentioning that here!! LOL I did infact have a C-section with my twins. All went wonderfully. I lost over 60 lbs of my weight within 6 weeks. My body bounced back pretty fast. I am a very driven and motivated person with a strong personality. I would never let someone else choose what is right for me or my child. I am aware of all the natural goodness of natural birth. All that is wonderful I am sure. My experience with the surgery was fine, and I expect the next one to go unhitched too. I myself am very comfortable with having another C-section. I know the risks in both birthing methods, trust me I have done all my homework in years past. The first done because the decending baby was breech, Etc. My labor when by extremely fast with hardly no time to even think. I know what my body is capable of, and again comfortable with that decision. By any means, I was just happy to announce all the good in my life right now, and not start any heated discussion over which way to labor is correct. Birth is birth. And as long as my little peanut and myself are healthy and happy, that is all that matters to me! And I know you all mean kind words in helping me and I thank you for that. And yes, a little boy would be nice! Since there are NO boys in my direct family at all. This time I am a bit under the weather, and fighting off a nasty flu. Trust me you don't want to catch it. I have been in and out of the hospital for a week getting IV. Not fun, but just trying to get back to my old self again.

congrats! glad to hear that everything is going well! fingers are officially crossed that you get your little man!
Awww, congratulations to you sweetie! That's great news! And the c-section thing, don't sweat it. I had my oldest son vaginally, had one of my twins vaginally, and my other twin had to be taken by cesarean. I had no problems with the c-searean, heck, if anything, my bottom hurt way more than my incision for the section did. However, my twin that was born vaginally required absolutely no time in the NICU, whereas my twin that was born by cesarean, did. I know that with the type of c-section that I had, if I WERE to have more children (which I'm not due to being extremely high risk) I would require another c-section due to the type that they did and also being high risk. Anyway, the health and safety of you and your baby is the most important. {{{Hugs and belly rubs}}}
Awwww. I love ultrasound photos. The little peanut looks so cute. And, don't let anyone sway your opinion about what you decide for your body. It's yours, you know what it can do. Congratulations and keep yourself healthy. I hope you get over your flu bug soon.
