Yeah, so I've got this really awesome skirt that I made, but I want to deck it out in patches, know of any good websites to order them from?
i know you said websites, but a lot of local record stores (private owened, not corprate trash like best buy) carry patches, as well as head shops, and if your lucky some privately owned clothing stores. (hot topic has patches and buttons too, if you, like me, live in the bible-belt full of uptight people that wont ALLOW head shops or record stores in their suburb-haven.)
I get all mine at the head shop here in town, and my pins at the head shop or the record store. if you don't have one of those where you live, then try this. the prices suck though. http://www.hippieshop.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?&category=16000&start=20
I make my own patches.. with paint, fabric and that iron-on crap. The butterflys, fairy, dragonflies, and chinese symbol are patches.

places like best buy sell special iron on transfer sheets that you can print a picture on off the computer and iron on something like a patch-i put several small pictures on one sheet using something like a paint program or word and cut them out.
I just found this on a kids craft website. http://www.makingfriends.com/patches.htm You could also cut out simple shapes from fabric and add fusible interfacing to them, then sew them onto the jeans (or whatever you're patching). I've never tried it, but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard. If anyone tries it, I'd love to see the results!
it's funny that you mention that-i actually have some stuff that i made my own patches for using that technique- this is a patch i made by just drawing on a piece of scrap muslim and sewing it on with embroidery floss using a satin stitch. (this is a close up of my turtle pillow that i made, in case you're wondering) sorry the quality is low. this is a jean overnight bag i made out of the bottom parts of the legs from a pair of jeans i turned into a skirt (very easy, let me know if you want to make one, ill post the directions) i cut out simple shapes from FLANNEL fabric (trust me, regular fabric is VERY difficult to do this with! flannel is nice and stiff) the peter max patch i made too, in an earlier reply in this thread i mentioned something about printable transfer paper. i transferred the image onto a piece of white muslim (make sure the image is backwards on the computer!) cut it out, and sewed it onto the bag. very simple. the whole project probably only took me a couple of hours.
