if i keep taking my pills for a few extra days to postpone my period will that really fuck me up or anything? i was thinking just for an extra week, so i dont have to be bleeding during the holidays ??
No - I've done it before. It's great. You might have a little bit of breakthrough bleeding, but nothing a pantyliner can't handle. All in all, it's a benefit of the pill.
My sister has migrains so they have her skip the pills she is to take when here periods start and go on in to the next moth of pills except evry 3 mos. so doing it once won't hurt you like dance in pjs said
Have you considered the depo shot? It stops your period for three months....longer if you keep taking it.
The depo shot is a great thing, but it's not recommended that it be used for more than 2 years, and that's only if you can't take another form of birth control. It leads to premature osteoperosis (sp). I should know....it has happened to me. I wish I had know this years ago.
I had the depo shot, and it sucks... I didnt have my period for three months and then I had it for 3 months straight. everyone I know that has had it, it fucks up thier cycle. I dont recommend it.
yea i've done this before with my period too -- just taken the active pills a few more days. it didnt seem to hurt me. i've also just skipped my period altogether for a month. you should be fine...unless there is some scary longterm effect i havent found out about yet!!
you guys are correct. i have had doctor advice that it is no problem to skip the odd period. I personally wouldnt skip them too often cause i figure that they are a natural bodily function and so we are meant to have them. But if i've got a uni exam or something then i'll skip it just cause it makes it all sooooo much easier
yup you can take your pill until when you want a period if your not on any pill you can ask your GP for a drug called Norethisterone until when you want to come on x
