We get so many conflicting stories about what is happening, depending on where you look and who you listen to. But there are some pretty undeniable things going on. Polar ice caps going bye bye. Huge ice chunks the size of entire states breaking off and floating out to sea, strange ocean currents, warmest (or coldest, depending on what part of the world you are in) winter on record in places. Does not matter at this point the WHY of it. I just wonder what people think is REALLY going to happen. Give us your theories for probable future scenarios, and how soon in the future you think it will be.

i'm optimistic. i'm hopeful. it's certainly not too late to fix this. but, if we keep fucking around in politics and putting profits above humanity, then i am very, very afraid of what the future holds. i still want to have faith that we can overcome; the majority of the world recognises that global warming is real and that it is soaring out of control as a result of human populations. we just need to start subsidizing alternative energy sources and pro-humanity efforts rather than giving our money to greedy, dirty industries. keep your fingers crossed, i say.

well let's see, it's 10 degrees celcius where i am in Canada, on the 5th of January. It's normally at least -20 this time of year. It's been like this since november and there's no drop in temperature in sight for the near future. I think it's safe to assume we're fucked.

To cool down again have a good read on the Energy Saving Trust site: www.est.co.uk

Please can you try to find some historical records for your part of Canada? How often has it ever been above say 5 deg C at this time of year? I understand that the poles, and probably such places as Canada are going to see the most warming soonest. My brother was in Gillam 20 years ago, and it was extremely cold.

I certainly think we should give great respect to our Mother Earth.. and I do everything I can to keep her clean because I do have great respect for her.. but, then, remember that she's strong.. she'll overcome the harm we've done to her eventually.. so I honestly have a hard time believing she's doomed.

But, yeah, I figure it's more likely that the human race is doomed.. we've fucked up big time in many ways.

..Whether our inevitable fall comes from a nuclear bomb or Mother Earth's wrath (she's bound to be pissed off at us by now..) or whatever happens.. only time will tell.. yeah, guys, I say it looks grim.

In fact, everything about this world looks grim right now. Let's hope we're wrong.

I know we need action not just talk, but the public are at least demonstrating their interest via the DVD best sellers list where An Inconvenient Truth (Documentary) is listed as follows:

A balanced review can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Inconvenient_Truth
