Alright...this time its got to work! My Journey to Health!

    hey all,
    i'm tracy 20, f, 5'4 and 163 lbs. I really need to lose some weight and regain my health. I've decided to try to lose about 15 lbs by March 1st which seems reasonable if I actually work at exercising and eating well. I have been a meat eater for a year after 3 years of vegetarianism and I'm returning to the fold right now. I'm going to cut out greasy fried foods except fried eggs a few times a week and try to eat a well balanced diet. I'm going to continue taking supplements and flax seed oil daily.

    As far as working out goes I'm planning to start off doing a pilates tape for 10-20 mins 3-4 times a week and supplementing that with walking, rebounding, and a 15-30 min cardio tape. Every week or every other week I'm going to increase my pilates time until I'm doing 45 mins 3-4 times a week. I also might start doing weight lifting a few times a week.

    One major barrier to returning to health for me is the fact that 3 nights a week I get about 6 hours of sleep. Enough to function but not enough to make me happy. I'm going to try to get 7 hours and then maybe even 8 hours those nights.

    I want a weight loss buddy!!! I weighed myself today and realize I have gained 10 pounds from drinking, baking and eating holiday food. I would like to lose 15 pounds in total and do it by Jan because im going to vegas. I plan to do it by running 25 miles a week and doing yoga twice a week...and limiting my drinking to once a week.

    how are you? So I guess I fudged a bit on my previous post... back then I weighed more lik 167-168. I'm currently at 162.3. I've lost like 6 lbs in 2 weeks.... I haven't been working out at all really but I have been restricting my portion sizes and not eating meat. Good luck girl....if you want email me... I check email alot more than I check these forums.

    so, I ate some fries today because my energy was SUPER low... I don't feel bad about it as I have really been trying to do my best and keep to a healthy diet. I wonder if I'll have lost any more weight this week. How is your journey going Lynsey?

    congrats Tracy!!!!
    me-not so good. I gained more weight because I've been sedentary latley and eating on the go a lot. I've given up for now because I know I'd fail right now and everyone's coming home from school in a couple weeks and I'm going out of town for new years and yeah...I'm a procrastinator ):

    oh lynsey,
    you shouldnt give up, I know for a fact that you've done it before and I'm sure you can do it again... I do think that losing 15 lbs by January is a bit unrealistic though and might explain why you've given up. holidays are not an excuse for not taking care of yourself. I'm sure you can do it. You're a strong lady. My goal is 15-20 lbs by March. Want to join me on that path?

    yay I walked a mile and ran 2 and a half...that's a good start...I feel great and am going to have a healthy lunch and light dinner to make up for my cocktails tonight. Thanks for talking me into not letting all my work float out the window! :)

    great job girl! see you're doing better than me already! lol. I've been eating pastries....ut oh... I just have a hard time guilting myself out of it AND its finals week..lol. Luckily next week I'm free from school's stresses and all the junk food that surrounds me here. I'm going to eat well the rest of the day and do my best to care for myself tomorrow. Thanks for sticking to it girl, I don't know what I'd do without you.

    I'm soo glad that school is almost over, I've been having such a hard time doing myself right. Today wasn't as bad as other days and tonight I got my favourite, INDIAN FOOD... it was awesome! Tomorrow all this school shit will be over. ahhhh....=)

    So I gained a pound in 2 weeks... not too shabby considering how I've neglected my healthy eating habits. I wish that the holidays didn't mean large amounts of junk food and sweets. I need to learn to say NO and to control my portion sizes when it comes to treats. how's everything on your end lyns? I'm planning to rebound today for like 10-20 mins.

    so theres something wrong with my kidneys I think... they hurt and my pee has been weird... I'm putting on weight too but its obviously water weight... Arg!

    so i'm doing pretty well on the exercise front, 4-5 times a week and I do alot of different activities incl. biking, tai chi, yoga, arm exercises... its awesome!!! i'm going to try pilates this weekend... i havent really lost any weight but i'm not worried...

    I have been doing GREAT!! In three days I've done pilates three times. I already look firmer...which is weird... I'm going to continue working out most days and eating healthily... I still don't think I've lost any weight but I'm having so much fun. I can't believe I was so lazy before... Exercising regularly has been super easy and has given me a bit more energy. I love it! I sure hope that I can keep up my enthusiasm when school starts again... I don't think it'll be too hard as I'll have a yoga class two days a week anyway. I'm going to shoot for 3-4 times a week then I guess. Ah, so happy, I'm going to exercise like crazy until break is over while I still have the time, relaxation, and the energy!

    so last night I went to my first ever yoga class, it was a ton of fun. I was surprised at myself. I was actually able to do yoga for an hour and I left feeling warm and great! I sweated soo much more than I ever do. I think I may try to keep this as a weekly routine. I've worked out 4 times in the past week and tonight I think I will do cardio and pilates. Right now I can tell that my only issue is eating garbage. I need to keep a handle on what I'm eating and try not to give in to cravings so much. I think I'll start keeping a food diary.

    i'm doing pretty well... yesterday I did 20 mins of pilates and then 15 mins of strength evercises incl. squats,lunges, pushups and arm exercises without weights... I felt kind of silly doing the arm exercises w/o weights but damn...today I am feelin it... I hurt. I'm not sure if I want to work out tonight or not but i know i should esp after taking two days off... that probably why i'm so sore. le sigh...

    if only i was better at cardio... i dont really enjoy it esp since I am sports-braless.... grr..

    did tai chi and strength exercises last night.... I feel pretty righteous. Its weird that its only been like 2 and a half weeks and I already feel like i've been exercising for a long time. Interestingly I'm already seeing some results... if little. My arse is a little smaller and higher, my tummy is just a little smaller and my legs are looking defined.. pilates is a wonderful thing. =)

    so i ate meat last night I had a gyro and fries. it kept me up all night. I haven't really had meat for like 2 months and my body was like WHAT?! I only exercised 3 times last week and I'm going to try to get in 5 times this week. Its my last week before school starts and I'd better make the best of it. I feel more stable and secure in my body and even though it still looks pretty much the same, I feel better about it.

    This week I will try to do cardio 3 times for 15 mins a piece and pilates 5 times for 20 min each. I hope sooner than later my body will be what I want.
