A very fucking tough year. I live in New Orleans and I survived hurricane Katrina with no ill effects to my home. However, 2006 was a nightmare. In Feburary my landlord sent a letter to me informing me my rent was increasing to almost twice my per Katrina rate. I was the only tenant who remained after the hurricane and all new tenants were paying a much higher monthly rent. I moved due to the rent increase into a new apartment and after one month I fell victim to a new problem. We had one of those weeks of nonstop rain which we get in the south. After being in my "new" apartment for 3 weeks the rain poured through. It rained into the light fixtures and the ceiling bubbled. I was able to cover my TV, computer, and bed to prevent water damage. Therefore, I moved again. Fortunately, I found a wonderful apartment which I reside in currently. Personnally, the year sucked. I lost my closest friend due to monetary issues. I am forunate to be financially secure but my friend isn't. I screwed shit up because I can be very cheap and petty when it comes to monetary issues. I am currently trying to repair our relationship. 2007 has gotta be better than 06.
it was a year of many ups and downs, many oh so many stupid mistakes, and a good growing experience...just one more year down so many more to go
I think 2007 will be a GOOD year for all of us.. we should be optimistic..it's all between our OWN 2 ears and therefore..I wish everybody again a good year.. crazy Tiger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNopQq5lWqQ
2006 was a year full of blessings in disguise. There were plenty of ups and downs, sure. But I came out of it all a stronger, and wiser person. Here's to 2007.
the year of getting my new glassess i've been needing for the past TEN. other then that it was mostly a year of the same old crap, a demented megalomaniac still in charge of the most powerful millitary on the planet, defacto dictating a totaly fucked up way of life to the rest of the world. the bright spot being what the public expressed by how it voted in the congressional election. it wasn't a year, for example, the people stopped worshipping the automobile like it was some kind of a god, or really stopped puting trying to impress each other ahead of the kind of world we all have to live in, even though most of them realize by now, that global warming is REAL and that WE are doing something to cause it. mostly still wanting to beleive it to be something that can be solved by finger pointing and industry regulation alone. not something all of us have to dicipline ourselves to some degree to deal with. you know, when people wake up and realize THAT, (and ACT accordingly to having realized that), THEN it will be a year to remember. =^^= .../\...
