It's so quiet in here, when I just look and don't think.
As I try to grasp, I steadily sink-
Into a world of concepts of past.
A desperate attempt to make the now I like last.

But the now can't be known,
    Just seen and understood.
    There's nothing to own,
Though we all feel we should-

Own all that we can, even the now.
We all waste time grasping, and then wonder how-
Our lives slip away, as the drama subsides,
So we take all the pills that the doctor prescribes.

And let it all fall into the world of the norm.
Where nothing's expected, so comfy and warm.
We forget about now, and what it all meant,
But death always comes now, when your time has been spent.
