THE THING from another world was great. Starring James Arness (as the thing) he made that before his long running tv series Gunsmoke. h
This is one of the only movies where I thought the remake was better (which is not to say the original wasn't good also). They used the fact that the Thing could disguise itself as people very well.
Yea I saw this too it wasn't bad. First time I saw it though it was scary to me. I wonder if those guys at the end will ever be rescued?
If you're looking for another horror movie where the remake is better than the original I suggest 'The Evil Dead Part II' it's much better than the original h
Thanks for the suggestion. Believe it or not, I've never seen any of the Evil Dead movies. I did meet Bruce Campbell at a book signing though (was getting his book signed for a friend). A pretty cool guy. I told him I had never seen any of the Evil Dead movies and he says, "Ahh, you're probably better off." HA! After that ringing endorsement I would like to check them out.
gunison, Cool Just remember Evil Dead Part II -- because you might just be put off If you rent the Original Talis
raysun, A few other classics include: Them The Killer Shrews Invasion of the Body Snatchers The Bad Seed h
'The Bad Seed' always looked like one worth picking up. I saw 'Children of the Damned' a couple weeks ago on TCM (I remember them spoofing it in a Simpsons episode: "Now you're thinking, 'I hope that's Shepperd's Pie in my trousers'. Now you're thinking, 'How did she know what I was thinking?'). It was all right, nothing to write home about. The 'Killer Shrews' was a Mystery Science Theater episode. Pretty funny too. 'Body Snatchers' is a classic.
Anyone see an old Bruce Dern movie "Silent Running"? It wasn't a big hit but I sort of liked the premise and the message...
