Would you not consider dating somone if you found this out?
I met a former co-worker whom I used to date for just casual coffee to catch up. We were sitting on the couch near the restrooms and I heard the urinal flush and then a couple seconds after he walked out-no water running. It was a one-person restroom.
What really grossed me out is when we were making out a few months ago I was teasing him and kinda playfully sucked on one of his fingers. Thinking back to that and the thought of him not washing his hands makes me want to hurl and I don't know if I can be friends with him anymore, even platonic friends.
    Am I over reacting?

He doesn't wash his hands ok that's nasty, but maybe they have hand sanitzer in the bathroom? I would definatly suggest before sex shower or in shower sex if you ever do get together.

I didn't sleep with him, we just dated for a few weeks. But I don't know if I can continue even being a friend because now everytime I see him I will just think of that...blah

no hand sanitizer, at least in the women's there wasn't.

Ok then that is just wrong he needs to wash his hands. I would be able to hang out across the table from him if he didn't try to touch me share anything he touched with me and touched nothing I was going to touch. I don't think guys are as big on the hand washing thing as we are. I carry alot of sanitizer with me and a little compact with soap sheets in it. I can't do the no hand wash thing.

me neither, unless the bathroom is disgusting and then I use hand sanitizer and flush the toliet with my foot. The thing that gets me is he thinks he's irrasistable and everyone wants him "'oh yeah the new exec, she really wants me i think, very flirtatious', 'this new teacher we got she was trying to connect with me'". I wanted to laugh...it was hard not to. He's a really great guy though, works at a non-profit, is in a creative writting group, does yoga, used to be a first grade teacher ( i mean how freaking sweet is that?), but his narcisim and not washing his hands now...are blaaaaaahhhhhh. I mean he would also have to not care that I knew he did not wash his hands because he came out right after.

If you do go out again before you eat or what ever take out the hand sanitizer use it and ask if he would like some. If he says no just talk to him at work

That's... less than pleasant. I mean, different if it's just to take a leak at home and you know you washed your washroom right away, no germies floating about but... hmm. Ick. I don't understand the poor post-washroom hygiene thing. Then again I got sick when I was younger from someone not washing their hands and had to be hospitalized for a couple days due to dehydration as a complication of it, so not fun.

But, to me, it sounds like you're looking for reasons to not date him. Maybe just turn him into a friend since you like hanging out with him, but don't particularly like him as a date?

I konw some guys who don't wash their haned after urinathing, but when i asked them why? (i'm shameless) they told me that they don't use their hands while urinathing. They don't touch their penis. They just pull their pants down and hold their penis with them.

yes, I do think you are over reacting. Do you sanitize your hands every time you touch a dollar or a coin? Do you sanitize all the cash money you ever use? You are exposed to way more germs that way, you know, than from taking a leak.

I don't wash my hands after going to the restroom...like someone else said, you don't use your hand to wipe yourself...If I do get some pee on my hand on accident I will wash them.

As a cashier, I'm also MORE apt to wash my hands after handling money than going to the restroom.

Of course, I'm not a germ-o-phob whatsoever, so...there ya go

completely agree. read the title and was like, yep thats me. i wash them if i have gone to a nasty public restroom or if i have gotten pee on me or if i feel i need to for something else like cooking. but normally i dont.
then again i dont take a shower every day or even every other day. just a dirty chica i suppose.

are you sure he used the bathroom? he could have gone for something else?

That's a good point! I have gone to the restroom before only to check that I didn't have something in my teeth etc and have flushed the toliet with my foot just so people wouldn't think I was a non-flusher.

They have a point I guess we were being a little one sided on the issue. It is out of habit I think that I wash my hands so much. I got that way working in health care and you have to be a little ocd with it there.

Eh, unwashed hands gross me out. With a guy, usually they're just holding their dick, but public washrooms aren't the cleanest places.

Why am I twitchy about post-washroom hygiene?
I've gotten -very- sick from someone not washing their hands before preparing my food
And I've worked in food based businesses (I hesitate to call them restaurants, not quite fast food joints either though) and I received a Food Safe certificate through my high school commercial cooking class.
Public washrooms just aren't clean, washing your hands can help with that.

Yeah I used to work with special needs kids and was a compulsive handwasher who still got sick all the time. I don't think I could ever do that kind of work again just because of how I have been cold-free since I stopped last spring.
