This Album is awesome!!!! i originally got this because of the AWESOME cover of Helter Skelter but the more i listen to it the more i love it.
Switch has to be the best song on the album but Suburban Relapse, Jigsaw Feeling, and most of the other songs are great.

    Anyone else love this album?

What other albums should i check out of their's?

I think it’s their best album, and certainly the most punky. Later they became gothic icons, and the sound of their albums of the 80s didn’t have such a raw quality as on The Scream. However, Kaleidoscope, Juju, and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse are quite good. But their best of the 80s was, I think, Tinderbox – very spacey, but intense.

As for Join Hands, it is good and in the same vein as The Scream, but I know that many people hate it for some reason.

Besides the ones mentioned above, I really like "HYAENA", has some great sounds on it, and Robert Smith, from the Cure, is the guitarist throughout. This one is much more polished and produced sounding and not nearly as raw as The Scream but good for what it is.

well what i've read is that after the album the guitarst and drummer got fired/quit. so that probably has something to do with the change in sound.

Yeah, the line-up changed, I think, after Join Hands.

Sid Vicious was their original drummer, he left before they recorded "the Scream".

i just got their dvd 'nocturne', my first purchase of theirs. haven't seen the whole concert yet but the main reason i bought it was for the 'play at home' special. this was a breif tv show where the selected group basically decided upon the content of the program.

with the LSD soaked banshees, the result is an extremely trippy version of alice in wonderland, where all four members of the group play alice. each member has their own skit within the piece, the best being budgie's poetry reading at the zoo. classic! also contains a music video for 'the glove', a very obscure side-project that triumphantly tops either the banshees or the cure in the psychedelic stakes.

this was the era in which robert smith was their guitarist and it's fun to see him in there looking extremely disorientated because he was touring for two bands and recording albums for three.

the video and sound quality are also excellent. highly reccomended!

whats also intresting is that when she sings she does this thing where her voice pops. sort of like a hiccup where the pitch jumps up quickly. its... interesting.
