I keep reading that you have to live "full time" for years before you'll get an OK. I want to know if you can get facial feminization surgery before doing this, and such. If so it's not as bad a problem, just I dunno. I want to get it while I'm young. I can wait a year or two even as long as I am transitioning during that period. Though just throwing a dress and walking around as an unconvincing girl is unappealing. I've managed to get rid of my depression it seems, so looking into the next steps I should work on.

 

From what I've heard, you have to live full-time for one year. A lot of people go overseas to get the surgery because it's cheaper and there are no requirements. The reason they have the year requirement and the counseling requirements is because they want to be sure people don't regret it later. I'm sure it's happened before that someone got the surgery then regretted it and sued the doc who did it for not making sure s/he was mentally fit to get the surgery.

I have to agree I'm a big believer or going from the inside out, find out about yourself as a woman, discover what your life means to you as woman and you may find you don't need as much surgery as you thought you did.
surgery won't really build confidence, but knowing who you are will

I don't know if the "facial" part was on the title when I read this and I just misread it, or if it was edited, but when I responded, I was referring to genital feminization surgery. As far as I know, there are no time requirements for facial surgery.

 

I've edited the thread Minkajane, because I thought a lot of people may have information to offer that may not realise this is what the threads about.
the opening post is focassed on the facial surgery not genital.
what would your advice be in this case, mine would be its still good to wait and reflect on it first

With ANY surgery, it's a good idea to wait, but especially with such a life-altering and irreversible one.

 

My point is though with the therapy required with the process, a person my well find that they are actually happy with their facial features at the end of it.

Is it possible to orgasm?

How natural does your neo-vagina look?

How is sex in general, and can you have multiple orgasms in a row, like people born female?

Being a non-op Winkte I can't answer from experience, but I will try to answer based upon on small pool of 6 post-op transwomen I know well.

Five of my friends do, in some it took awhile to learn how to do this, things are rewired a bit differently and it took some time for some to learn how to interpret signals. The one who couldn't had her surgery in her mid forties, because of lack of identification with her male genitals she never was sexual. I think in her case it is a mental thing because all the signs of high physical arousal is there. I doubt the lack of ability was due to the work of a surgeon because another friend had her surgery by the same doc and has a very easy time of it from the beginning.

In various trans groups I have heard cases where there isn't much feeling afterwards, pick your surgeon carefully and even then there are no guarantees.

Very natural though to get the natural look is usually a two stage process. The first is the SRS, the second stage is much simpler and creates details. Many docs do it all the first time, and it's pretty good but that follow up makes it excellent.

Even in genetic females there is high variability in this. In general though the multiple orgasms are there in M2F trans, this seems to have more to do with the hormones which rewire the mind and body, even non-ops who never had that ability before end up being multi. Sexuality is very different after years on estrogen, personally I found it a much better experience that made my male sexuality seem so limited.

Keep in mind that sometimes things do go wrong after surgery, sometimes very wrong, there isn't a 100% success rate.

SRS= Sexual Reassignment Surgery. GRS is also used, Gender Reassignment Surgery. Other names used as well.

Please keep in mind Horseshoecrab that my info is based upon a very small pool of people I know who have talked about this particular subject. In various Trans groups I have been on that represent a much bigger proportion of the population the picture isn't always that rosy but I don't know these people or the details.

As far as dilating I'm unsure.

There are lots of trans groups out there with more informed information on the specifics of all that is involved, don't be swayed or overly encouraged by the small amount of info I have given. Do your homework and please don't latch on to what you would like to hear.

There is much more involved in transitioning than hormones and surgery, there is a lot of inner work that has to be done for those to have any success. In a larger pool of trans people I know I could mention a few who thought surgery and being in a more proper body would finally make their life what they dreamed it should be, but it didn't turn out that way, no matter what the exterior is you are still in there.

Ok I've been gone a while, depression is mostly gone now that I got a gym to work at..problem is during winter when I didn't have gym..it slowly came back after a month. So now I got gym running again, I'm fine. I can...probably live without vaginoplasti but the thing is I just want to have a female face since mine couldn't pass for one as is..I'd need to get some electrolysis first too.

I dunno where I should start. How much money do you need to get started? I've been thinking about saving up some money, like getting a 20-30 thousand dollar a year job, saving up almost every dime, then get started with some of the surgeries (hair removal first)

I also haven't decided whether I'll tell my parents or not. I don't really care about keeping in contact too much, definitely not with my mom but my dad maybe. So where am I supposed to start?

 

This was the killer for me. I was sent for electrolosis at a hospital a few years ago. Where i was basically told cos my hair growth was so severe, (Or something along those lines) they couldnt do anything for me. So obviously this made transition for me next to impossible. I also dont see the point in going through surgery or those kind of things, if at the end of it you're still going to look like a guy in drag. How can i live my life as a woman, if i still look like a guy? The thing that really sticks in me, is i was always being taken for a girl in my late teens. Even though i was not dressing as a female. Every time that happened, i was so high i felt i was flying. Then it would soon wear off cos obviously i knew i still had this hideous body, i couldnt get rid of. A lot of things conspired against me, so that my life long dream to live a happy life in a female body could never be realised. Knowing i coudnt have the facial problem fixed really knocked me for 6. Then being told i had to "dress" as a female, was also something i found next to impossible to do. One, ive never cared much for the whole dolling myself up. Feeling i had to "prove myself", dressing in a way i didnt really want. Besides the fact if i did that where i live, id get my head kicked in, more than likely. My looks have really deteriorated a lot in the last few years, and i look even worse than i did before. I think the lack of any real support at the time when i really needed it, is why im stuck in this nightmare situation now. I now feel hopeless, and that my life will be like this forever. Some people were just meant to suffer, and im one of those people. I still dream i will one day have a half-decent life, but i know that is more or less just fantasy now.......
