Ever notice those little bubbles coming from the bottom of your glass even after your drink has been sitting there a while? Can someone in their infinite wisdom enlighten me about these tiny bubbles?

    What were you drinking?

If it is water, it could be a dirty glass...

That is one way to tell if glasses in a restraunt are clean. If you get water and the sides line up with bubbles, it is because air was trapped behind dirt, and once water hits it and washes the dirt away, the air bubbles out...

Wow, I'm impressed and grossed out at the same time. Thank you for that information but I'm drinking gingerale. They are rising from the bottom. I will be sure however to look at my glasses closer now.

Yeah, I love that part. I also like it when you squeeze the liquid dish soap and bubbles go everywhere. That makes me happy.

lol. that and oxygen possibly bubbling out naturally as the beverage loses it's ability to absorb and retain it. maybe. i'm not a science brain or anything. i never really worry about dirt and such, so i'm rarely sick.

Drop a pinch of salt, or dust from around your TV into an experimental drink, and check out the results....

Also, to stop the bubbles, wipe the side of your nose with your index finger, and plunge said finger into the drink. The bubbles stop immediately in fear of nose oil(s).

    Kooky but true.

It is from carbon dioxide being dissovled, creating a gas that tries to escape. The bubbles are the gas. Basic chemical reaction :)

Then lets part with the ridiculous and the sublime and get serious, the bubbles could be the byproduct of quantum foam :H

well no damn wonder you have bubbles in it. its supposed to. it is a carbonated drink, and the whole point of carbonation is having carbon dioxide in your drink to make it fizzy. its a really complicated thing that you most likely won't understand so just stick to closing your eyes while drinking it and that way you won't have to look at them

Sweetheart I'm not talking about the initial fizz. I'm talking several hours later bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Pardon me for asking a question. If it bothers you so much close your eyes as you type. (Ever notice the title of the forum is "Random Thoughts" not "Best not ask any questions for fear of being ridiculed by someone with their head up their butt"?)

Anyway, thank you to you all who answered nicely. However, I will not be putting my finger anywhere and then putting it in my drink! lol Thanks anyway.

Well, techincally the initial fizz is the same as the fizz that slowly lets out into a still drink that taste's flat :)
